sounds interesting, where was your tasting and networking held?

just another bit of info: if you have that extra bit of cash and would like a fancy dinner or a special dinner for your bf/gf, I found out that fine dining contemporary italian restaurant OTTO has free corkage from mondays to wednesdays. Thursdays to Saturdays is $30++.

their weekday lunch sets, which changes weekly, are typically priced at $35++; it's a good deal. but they also stock very good wine, all italian, naturally.

just an updated. Denise Wines is having an August promotion where their odd bottles and bin ends get a 20% discounts. Buy 6 or more of those odd bottles/bin ends and get 30% off.

good time to go bargain hunting.

for those interested, may be a little pricey, but if u see the producers represented during this tasting, i think it's a decent deal...

Thank you for the info.
Among all the producers there, which one you find most interested ?

Those that i can see on the list:

Torbreck (interested in all their wines, premium aussie producer)

Brown Brothers (their higher end ranges)

Joseph Phelps (wanna taste their Insignia)

M.Chapoutier (i enjoyed this producers entry to mid level wines, wanna taste the higher end wines; i love rhone wines anyhow)

Torres (although it is a very large producer, we're mostly exposed to their entry level stuff, but they make a large variety of wines)

St Hallet (very good aussie producer)

going for a casual chinese dinner later with one of my wine kaki and one more friend who just came back from studies abroad. going to imperial treasure at ngee ann city (not the high end one). Free corkage.

Friend will be bringing the '05 Lamothe Bergeron. Will taste it again in a more serious and less distracting setting to see whether it lives up to the 'hype' during the Carrefour wine fair.

In addition, said friend will be bringing along a semi-sweet wine as well served blind. so we'll see how that one goes. Will update soon...

actually from the sales list from the Vinum website, their bordeaux that are under $100, a good portion of them are good buys.

as for the duhart milon, u can start drinking it in about 2 years. but if u really want it to develop more, give it another 7 years.
