if i am buying red wine for short term drinking (e.g. will drink within the next 3-6 months)

does it matter if i just keep it in my cupboard at room temp and away from sunlight? i have seen ppl saying it will spoil or get 'cooked'.

fridge is not an option because no more space

i am referring to those reasonable 20-40 bucks per bottle kind of wine that you can get from major retailers. not very ex one.

want to stock up abit since its on sale. but just not sure if the storage condition will ruin it.

I've been storing and drinking wines in my kitchen cabinet for years. No problem at all.

The wine might get corked, not cooked. That's bacteria infecting the cork iirc. Don't worry too much about it.
