Just bought a 2007 Matua Valley Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough from Carrefour. Typical budget SB from NZ. Fruit forward and rather crisp, with flavours of grapefruit and lemon. Good for those who are on a tight budget and wish to try a decently made but typical (could be boring for those who prefer more complex wines) New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. :s22:

i've tried the number 2 before, didn't like it at all, not well made IMO. I have not tried the 3rd one but the Bin 138 is a decent Rhone styled blend of Grenache, Shiraz & Mourvedre grapes from Australia it not bad.

hello all, it's been a long time, almost two weeks. i had to go back for high key reservist so I couldn't do anything then. but now i'm back and i've done several reviews already and i will steadily update the blog as the days pass.

but here's the most recent one yet, a Chilean Carmenere.

btw, there is a wine fair, featuring burgundy wines, at the suntec atrium infront of Carrefour. I visited it today, quite a number of good deal. loads of burgundy and a large number of their bordeaux (low to high end ones) are going for promotional prices. take your time and taste around.

here's the review: wineofthepeople.livejournal.com

Vidal
Icewines made from Vidal are noted for their affinity with honey’s flavours. In addition to aromas of tangerine, apricot and pineapple, when Vidal is aged in oak it takes on rich overtones of vanilla, almonds and fresh baked bread. Vidal Icewine works beautifully in a glaze for caramelized grilled pork roast or as an accompaniment to fresh summer berries with cream, chocolate biscuits, a pear tart or a raspberry mousse.

Riesling
Riesling based Icewine is renowned for its acidity and mineral notes. Its vivid orange and citrus tones will combine with a rich range of creamy and decadent food textures and tastes, from foie gras to crème brulée.

Cabernet Franc
The crimson Icewine crafted from Cabernet Franc yields up the classic aromatics of baked strawberry and rhubarb pie. This wine shines when teamed up with cooked or baked fruit courses featuring cherries or wild strawberries with crème fraîche. Its spicy exotic quality is underlined when contrasted to foods with hazelnut and dark chocolate.

Have you guys tried these Inniskillin Icewine? I tried Vidal and Riesling already. is Cabernet Franc nice? Heard from people its the most expensive of the 3 above. Thx

More infor.
