Hey all, there are several big wine events coming this april/may period which will be a good opportunity for you to experience many different types of wines. While they may not necessarily be cheap in terms of absolute numbers, but the amount and quality of wines you get to taste at this event will more than make up for it.
The first event is 'Burghound in Asia'. Burghound is the de-facto authority online on wines from Burgundy. Headed by Allen Meadows, it seeks to provide information and everything there is to know about Burgundy wines.
The Burghound in Asia event is centered around a one day tasting of 200 over wines, predominantly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay since these are the two varietals that Burgundy is famous for. Expect wines from various countries and Burgundy made from these varietals and in different styles. In addition, there are several masterclasses you can sign up for to gain an insight into the varietal, style and region.
The ticket for the main tasting event is $98. By no means is this a 'cheap' event, but from the list of wineries represented, I believe that $98 is considered a 'steal' in the grand scheme of things. This will be a good chance for you to get a grip on these varietals and its various expressions depending on the region they are made in.
