Oh that's a very good price for a back vintage. Crystal wines retail at $150 for '06 and after discount is $90-$100.... So they still got one bottle left?

had a 2nd session of my blind tasting group @ Tung Lok Classic in Orchard Parade Hotel. One of the ladies works in the wine industry and I think knows the tung lok group well. managed to secure us a private room, dedicated food and wine service.

theme: old world whites. in the end most of us brought more unique/weird bottles haha... but very educational and interesting.

my notes:

actually there are several top name producers that actually product biodynamic wine. there are certain criterion that makes a wine certified as biodynamic from the official international biodynamic body. some producers don't bother apply for the certificate but practice it anyway.

sometimes they will say it on the bottle, but usually this kind of info it's mentioned in their website or back of the bottle or some press release.

it doesn't make it more expensive as quite a number (but not majority) of producers are doing it already. Keep in mind, there are differences between biodynamic, organic and natural wines.

hermitage wines are offering very back vintages of Domaine Huet; one of the best producers in the Loire (and some say the world) and the top producer in Vouvray. Their wines are very very long lived.

Hermitage has one dating back to 1946! they're not cheap though. They start from $180+ up to about $300+. I think the youngest on offer is 1980s.

Hey guys!

St Clair is one of the better producers in NZ (imho).

Cornerstone wines is currently having a promotion after St Clair won a couple of awards recently: http://www.cornerstonewines.com/pdf_files/Saint_Clair.pdf

I am planning to buy a few bottles. If anyone of you are interested in getting a few bottles (their SB is of fantastic quality.. really good..) we can band together and get a better discount.

Do let me know within the week if you're interested.

Thanks.

Anyone else interested? Please do let me know soon.
Thanks.

I'm a simple man. My wine of choice is the $16 Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon sold at the wine shop at the basement of Kallang Leisure. Cheap but beats any other wine I've ever had in that price range. I notice that I tend to prefer southern hemisphere wines.

I concur.. I find entry level wines from the developing countries (Argentina, Chile, South Africa) better than the entry level wines from developed countries (USA, Australia, Old World).. The QPR is much better too..

But that's just my own opinion..
