I personally felt it was a joyous occasion (as with most wine related events), and we had 5 reds and 1 dessert (thanks to ikileo) and the comparison of the new world (Australia) Shirazs vs the old world (French) went well.. On one hand we had silky, fruity full bodied reds which were a little on the sweet side, and on the other we had the mineraly, earthy, structured reds for comparison..

Everyone should come to the tasting (at least once in their lifetimes..) How how amazing the fruit evolves grown in different soils in different parts of the world can produce such amazing differences!

Oh, a special mention to the Burger place.. You aren't likely to find something like that in Singapore too.. Def worth exploring!

Ikileo, thanks for uploading the pics!

Anyone by any chance has an empty bottle of Montes Folly?
Looking for the empty bottle only. will self collect in singapore.
thanks in advance.

I do have Montes Folly but it is not an empty bottle. If you must collect this bottle and you can wait, I don't mind pass you the empty bottle after I have drank it. But no commitment for when I will consume this wine.

Think hkm mentioned this before: the manga 'Drops of God', and its influence on the Asian wine market has also been widely publicised. Found an English version on the internet and it's very interesting indeed. I think the hyperbole common in wine fits the comic book fantasy medium very well indeed. Just started reading, and am amazed to find many a mention of obscure cult wines, eg. a Miani Merlot from Friuli with only 7,000 production.

In Thailand now. Just drank the 2009 Pian de Ciampolo last night over dinner.

Very nice at 12.5% alc. fresh and lively. the body reminds me of a cab franc from the Loire but with very pure Tuscan flavours.

The English version stops at Vol 4 / Ch 33, but the Chinese version is already at Vol 30!
?? ??28

Remember to savour a glass of something good while you read!

Oh Pian del Campolo, Montevertine's entry Sangio!

Hope I don't start sounding like the comic's Italian snob Chosuke haha..
