Looks like the available weekend slots are Sat/Sun lunch (22/23/29/30 Dec) or Fri dinner (14 Dec). Or we can do weekdays if you guys are ok. I know Rabbit Stash near Queenstown MRT (The Rabbit Stash - Singapore, Singapore - Restaurant | Facebook) has free corkage on Tuesdays and La Barca (free corkage |) the same on Wednesdays.

I think a meal here will be $50-70 per pax, if you're having more than one course.

I am keen in the outing, fri and weekends are good. Weekdays also can for some days.

Central areas will be ideal, easier for all to meet, esp poor man like me who don't drive.

I should be ok with the dates listed. Although weekday is less convenient but I'm ok if arrange early. La Barca seems to be a good choice and perhaps we can consider La Barca on 19 Dec (Wed) too?

i will check but The University Club by Prive has free corkage IIRC.

Their food is fine dining but prices are pretty good. Festive December 4 course is $52 per pax.

Only down side it's inside NUS campus. it's not in the NUSS Guild House, it's actually in the Alumni Office building upstairs. went there a couple times. Prive standard of dining, which is good, discrete service and they have private dining areas as well.

i will drop them an email.

Went to wine treasure hunt at Capella, like the set up there as it has 6 stations of wine region spread across the beautiful hotel compound.

Yeah I was there too. Really great spread of wines but I couldn't finish them all. I liked the Kreydenweiss wines - Andlau Riesling, Kastelberg Riesling VT and Moenchberg Pinot Gris - as well as the Cailbourdin Pouilly Fume Triptyque, an oak-fermented wine from prime flint soils. Only lasted halfway through the Italy station before I collapsed for the day, probably due to lack of food to go with all the wine. The Pieropan Soaves, together with their new Valpolicella offerings, were well-made, while the Foradori Teroldegos were fantastic across the range - red fruits, good weight and nice earthiness.

Hopefully there will be more such events to come, this was a bit much for a half day event, but just goes to show the variety of great labels and regions represented by Alfa Intl.

hey guys got this email from the Loire specialist importers.

A Sorry Tale – A Special Sale | KOT Selections

please read the precursor and caveats before deciding to order.
i knew about this issue as they had told me; and they are very honest about the issue.

as usual buy at your own risk. i am getting some bottles, mostly younger ones because the are less fragile. but really good prices. they're all good wines from good producers.

Let me know who's interested so we can fill up a case or 2 before it all runs out!

here are the ones i'm potentially interested in.

NV de Sousa Champagne Brut Réserve Blanc de Blancs
2009 Ch. de Fosse-Sèche Saumur Rouge ‘Eolithe’
NV de Sousa Champagne Brut Cuvée 3A
2010 Yannick Amirault St-Nicolas de Bourgueil ‘Les Malgagnes’
2009 Yannick Amirault Bourgueil ‘La Petite Cave’
2009 Domaine Huet Clos du Bourg Moëlleux

ok got an email back from The University Club, as mentioned, they can waive the first 3, but after that it's $30 apiece.

if we have at least:

1 x sparkler
1 x white
2 x red
1 x dessert

it will be 5 bottles. so we would have to pay $60 extra for 2 bottle of corkage. $60 split between 10 people is $6 a piece so i think that's still manageable. if we have another 2 bottles, it will be $12 a piece.

personally i am ok with this, the location is very nice, comfortable, good service and food plus we can go on a weekend.

but we should get a consensus. those keen please let us know, even if you haven't replied before.

14th, 15th, 16th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 28th, 29th, 30th

these are all the Fridays, Sat & Sun in Dec.

Yup I'm interested to get 3-4 bottles from KOT Selections for early drinkning and it is good that we can pool together to buy from them as minimum is 1 case. Ok I will get back to you what I want to order tonight.

Hi Ikileo,

Can help me to order the following wines:

2010 Yannick Amirault St-Nicolas de Bourgueil ‘Les Malgagnes’
2009 Yannick Amirault Bourgueil ‘La Petite Cave’
2010 Domaine Dupasquier Vin de Savoie Jacquère
2009 Domaine Dupasquier Vin de Savoie Rosé

1 bottle each.

At this price point, worth taking the risk.. Though very little about the wines can be found on the net though..

Thanks!

Thought of getting the Bregeon Muscadet but I think that's quite a fragile white. Very noble act by the distributor though, to prevent the tarnishing of their producers' reputation.

It's ok please go ahead with your orders.

Btw I've received a reply fr La Barca, located at Goodmans Arts Centre, former La Salle campus. They are fine with waiving corkage up to a bottle per person, and have set menus at 60++ (starter+main+dessert) and 70++ (additional pasta course). The place has quite a nice ambience for private gatherings and is pretty central, location-wise, about 10 mins walk from Mountbatten MRT. Will you guys be interested?

Do let us know your thoughts then - whether La Barca or University Club, we gotta decide soon. I'm cool either way. Btw where is brother reign, also drowning in work?

I'm fine with either La Barca or University Club but seems like dinner is only good on Friday 14 Dec (Not sure if stayhappy can make it).

All the locations listed are fine with me.

As I'll be flying off on 15th morning, I'll probably be busy packing on the 14th night.. :(

Will you be back the following week? Sounds like the weekend lunches are doable: 22/23/29/30 December.

Shall we set it at Sat 22 December? Anyone can't make it?
