So.. Any recommendations?

i've had the muscadets from Domaine Luneau-Papin

the sparkling NV Gai Perle from Domaine André-Michel Brégeon is very good at a meager $36

any savennieres from Clos de la Coulée de Serrant by the great Nicolas Joly
ditto for Damien Laureau

get your cab franc reds from Pavillon du Grand Clos – Yannick & Benoît Amirault, bold and strong cab francs with a great perfume

for chenins, go for the incomparable Domaine Huet

for a truly unique and traditional grape go for François Cazin Cour-Cheverny wines made from Romorantin grapes

in alsace, Domaine Albert Boxler makes really good stuff and try the dessert/sweeter styles Vendanges Tardives.

both beaujolais producers are excellent and you can try the not-so-common beaujolais blanc (white wine)

down in the rhone, i have tried Eric Texiers basic cotes du rhones wines overseas and despite being entry level, they pack lots of flavour and style in the glass

i have not tried the savoie wines yet so no comments.

so let me know if you are interested.

Marchesi di Barolo wines are brought in by both Cold Storage (DFI) & Top Wines.
The Zagara bottle labels seem to have changed since the 2011 vintage; they are now labelled Le Meridiane (Sundial) but according to the site it is the same product.

Any Moscato lovers here? :s11:

Well I've drunk my fair share of Moscato D'Astis. It can be a really refreshing wine for our climate, and the alcohol levels are safe and easy. Seen people buy them by the dozens during wine events as well.

So what do you look for in your Moscato?
Sweetness? Freshness? Explosive fruits? Complexity - lots of things going on? Creamy mousse? Balanced fruits and sweetness with relentless effervescence (like Redoxon Vit C?) & acidity?

Mainly becos of its fruity taste and sweetness. ;) Feels just like drinking carbonated fruity soft drinks, e.g. Grapetiser. It's the perfect dessert wine IMHO. ;)

Moscatos are oso quite light and not too alcoholic... so I can drink to my heart's content knowing that I wouldn't be getting tipsy after having a few glasses. :D

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo are great wines indeed, although my personal favourites are Primitivo di Manduria from Puglia, especially the two below:

1. Primitivo di Manduria Sessantanni
2. Papale Primitivo di Manduria Varvaglione Linea ORO

Both can be bought in Europe at approximately EUR 25 per bottle.
Does someone know where can I get the best range of italian wines in Singapore?

Nice to see some fans of Southern Italian wines!
Too bad our market seems skewed towards the better known areas of Northern and Central Italy, like Piemonte, Veneto and by far the most popular, Toscana, with their Sangiovese and Bordelais varieties.
[...]

Today I came across a shop called Giorgio Ferrari and guess what? They have Primitivo di Manduria Sessantanni 2008 vintage (best one, better than 2009) at $63 and they have another Primitivo at $38. They have excellent choice of italian wines which you can view here.

Just be warned, once you try Sessantanni, there is no way back! :)

It also seems they have all wines available via their website for online order and Paypal payment, free delivery from $300. Has anyone bought from them already? Looks like it will be my favourite wine shop. The only thing is that their prices stated exclude 7% GST which is later added during checkout.

Yup Giorgio Ferrari are one of the biggest food and wine distributors here, especially for Italian gourmet foodstuff and wine. I find their portfolio a bit mixed in quality, there are big, solid names like Frescobaldi, Planeta, Paolo Scavino, Masi, Livio Felluga but some more quantity oriented producers like Leonardo, Farnese etc.
And the price is on the high side though that can subjective.
Yeah but they do have a huge variety of wines at many price points.

For online payments, OCBC Frank would earn 6% back which would basically relief the GST added.

Btw if you're interested, InterVino is selling this now at $85. A small production Primitivo di Manduria. I can PM you the order info upon request.

Gianfranco Fino Primitivo di Manduria "ES" 2006 Usual $95 Now $85/- One of Italy’s top cult wine. (last 4 bts)
The 06’ is almost black, purple tinged. The nose is strongly pervasive, full of fruit and nuanced with tobacco and tar. The palate is equally rich and complex, showing cohesive, long and very deep, with crisp black berry fruit. But this time the wine is dry and the alcohol, although plentiful, is controlled. There were no objections to the Three Glasses. 3 biccheri – Gambero Rosso 2009.

Do you have their full catalog and pricing? What's the order process, delivery charges etc? Can you PM me with details? Thanks.
