my friend attempted twice in winter.

first time he only went to 4th.

2nd time he made it to fifth.

depending on snow conditions

fujikyu is kinda small, finished the park in a day.

for lodging, try juyoh hotel in tokyo, hotel kinki in osaka (cheap if you have a travel companion)

I will be going there two weeks before your trip, with a similar itinerary, a 14 day trip, might be a full kansai tour or tokyo -> kansai.

R u going Arashiyama in Kyoto? It's a nice place, relaxing also, if u like nature also. Can take the train (forgot the name). Got shrine there. Small shops here and there.

I spent a day in Arashiyama... I started around 10 in the morning and I ended around 4? The various temples are rather far apart and there was a lot of walking... plus I took a walk through the park by the river. Had lunch there and later tea in some japanese garden...

I went in November. Some remaining autumn colors still. But it was mainly to enjoy the matcha.

Ya, r u the same in other places or only in Arashiyama, Kirakun? Oot a bit, I rem i went Danshui 2x in TW, the 2nd time i stayed there for ard 5hrs, my parents nagged at me a bit, becos we went there in our first trip already, 2nd time still stayed for so long, haha.

10am - 4pm is 1/2 day leh. Ya, tht place very relaxing and carefree feeling.

We can stay at a place for so long doesn't mean u will b the same, becos each individual has diff traveling pattern, mayb u will b bored after a while? But if u were a nature lover, i believe u will like it.

Winter... thn u must ride the Sagano Scenic Railway also, for the scenery.
Not sure wat u can do there during winter also? Appreciate the snow all over the place? Wow!

I rem it's very cold when i went there (autumn)!!! *shivering*
