Wireless Adapter

Hi guys my router isn’t in the same room as my PC and my house doesn’t have ethernet access points so i need to get a wireless adapter. What are the requirements for fast internet connection? it can be pcie or usb. I’m on a tight budget so the cheaper the better. Saw a few on lazada like 1200mbps for $15 but not sure if that’s true and stuff. Some insight would be good and maybe recommendations of particular models, thanks!

How far is your room from the router?

My router is very good some linksys ac 5400 one. My room not far also, just that cannot use cable as can’t conceal.

Moi personally bought a 30 metre long Cat5e cable and pull it into my room.

Your case either grab a PCI-E or USB3 Wireless AC Adapter.
Lazada you need to check the model number.
China alot of mis advertising.

those are theoretical speed limits... to add to that, it also depends on the speed of all antennas (400Mbps per antenna), combined. you'll need both ends to be using that many antennas to be hitting that speed.

Seems like a basic dongle. Not really good for a PC that is in another room.

I suggest you buy an Intel 9260ac PCIe card from Taobao. Around 125 Yuan. Shipping is 29 Yuan. Total about $35 SGD. Takes about 5-7 working days to reach SG.

oo thanks will check it out. btw i have a 300Mpbs home plug thing lying around. I have no idea how to use it. Is it as simple as plugging it in and connecting an ethernet cable from it to my PC. and if so is 300Mbps fast enough for this?

Which ISP router r u using now. If it is ST Aztech, better to change it before you get a USB wifi adaptor. ST replaced for me 3 times with the same model and still signal dropping. So in the end i got myself a TPLINK AC1900, no more issue.

Mercury UD13H(水星ud13h).
This usb3 AC wireless adapter from TB not bad as I am using it.
