Wireless bluetooth EAR BUDS recommendations

Received my QCY HT05 and used for a day already. I am no audiophile, so the sound is OK for me. The transparency mode is actually quite decent at level 4/5, going max 6 is crazy impossible . The ANC is OK also. One thing I can't figure out is the gaming mode left press 1.5secs which I can't tell it's on or off. Also, I noticed after I toggle the gaming mode a few times, it will haywire become silent no matter how I increase the volume.
In all, below $40 is quite worth getting for a normal daily beater.

So far… the only luxury headphone I own is the sony Wh-1000XM3

I am not sure how to comment on this, because I can only play with it alone plus I rarely make phone calls actually. I just tried with housephone and my hp+HT05. House phone place near laptop with music on, my HT05 connected to hp sounds ok just a little warm (not sure if is the right word to describe). But when I place the HT05 to the laptop while I listen on housephone, I almost cannot hear any music which is playing from the laptop. Not sure why or how this works... The earpiece itself seems to "detect" the laptop music as noise thus "remove" it, but I am sure i already switched off the ANC mode already. strange...

2) Jabra 7
3) new Momentuem Wireless 3

I am on the Plantronic Voyager on last 10 yrs.. (charged daily for that 6/7hrs talktime, think this is the 3rd set and going out soon... kept on losting the BT comms)

went thru some reviews like soundguys, but i still blur

1) need something more discrete
2) hoping for good sound during 'me' time
3) would be interested to take it for jog/cycle
4) comfortable for all day usage as mobile earpiece
5) microphone, back noise

FAQ
1) can it be used individually? aka L for Monday, R for Tues ( talktime, calls)
2) Can transparency be set? aka during excercise, backnoise can still be hear, traffic, ppl ard me?
3) during calls, will it have ANC, as in it block out the surrounding noise+ mic wind noise?
4) multi BT, = no problems for laptop zoom/ms and phone BT at same time right?

Afaik, most premium wireless earbuds are tuned for music enjoyment. A Few are tuned for phone calls. In that case, What’s your percentage of Music vs Calls on wireless earbuds?

if you use it for calls quite often, then you might wanna other brands such as Earfun, Soundcore and Soundpeats which place much emphasis on using good NOise cancellation tech and call mics to deliver good call quality

for Noise cancellation, afaik, there are two types
1) ANC (Active noise cancellation) which most of us have come to know

2) phone call background noise reduction. This has several names like ENC (Environment Noise Cancellation), CVC (Clear Voice Capture), RCV (Real Clear Voice)

For controls on ANC and Transparency…this is totally dependent on the company.
for example, SONY, Bose and Sennheiser have their own apps which allow users to have deeper controls on ANC and transparency levels
Since I am a Sony headphone user, the Sony app also come with several preset environments such as TRAIN, HOME, WORKPLACE, which has different ANC level settings.

Multi-Bluetooth connection allows your bluetooth wireless earbuds to be connected to several devices at the same time BUT BUT BUT it only allow audio streaming from ONE DEVICE at any one time.

If you want L earbud to stream music from your phone and R earbud to stream ZOOM calls from your laptop, there is one wireless earbuds product called GENKI in Kickstarter (I am waiting for the shipment)… you can check it out

once I received it, I will do the review and test this “Multi Bluetooth audio Streaming” feature

I will reckon , probably Phone Calls = about 4-6hours from 9am to 7pm...

then maybe 1 or 2 hours of soft music or video at night, without disturbing my wife or the kids with loud TV/speakers.

Would prefer good sound for the listening.

Hence was thinking, if i splash out another 150+ for the usual Voyager, might as well stretch it a bit to get earbuds for sound enjoyment.

STEREO at Plaza Sing would be a good fitment/demo placE?

You'll do better getting another voyager and getting a cheap soundpeats which actually sounds decent for your music.

Your usage pattern is heavily skewed towards phone calls, I don't think any consumer-facing earbuds have the battery backup, comfort or voice clarity of a professional earpiece/headset for making calls.

If you're expecting professional level usage for Conference Call, I suggest to stick with what you were already using for the longest time. You can try but I expect you to reach back to your Voyager for calls soon. For True Wireless buds kind headset in a Professional settings where people around you are also going on calls, highly likely they will pickup quite a bit of human voices in the background unless you are calling from your own room or go to a phone booth/meeting room kind of thing.

I do see some of my colleagues using Airpods Pro for calls. Doesn't work for me though.

By the way, while waiting for my HT05 to be delivered. I was searching around for a casing to hold it, then i notice it actually resembles T13. I cannot find a casing for HT05, you think T13 should fit as well?

OK, I bought the T13 case for HT05, and it does fit. A tiny bit misalignment but I aren't sure whether if it's poor manufacturing or size difference. But it works as intended as casing protection.

Aptx lossless is Qualcomm's codec so unless Apple decides to ditch AAC and adopt aptX, then aptX lossless will not be natively supported on Apple devices. Alternatively, wait for cheap oem bluetooth transmitters or dongles that support aptX lossless to be mass produced and available in the market.

For now, the kickstarter pledge price of USD$219 is quite ok for the specs and features you are getting on the NuraTrue Pro. The main selling point of aptX lossless support is quite the unicorn since you need the paired device to also support it and for now there is next to none. When it retails at the normal price of USD$329, i feel its will be a tough sell.

Apparently qualcomm chipset like SM8450 supports Qualcomm aptx lossless codec
The phones which have SM8450 are mainly flagship phones like samsung S22, sony xperia 1 IV

Pixel buds pro.

Very comfortable and doesn't protrude much out of the ears. Treble and mids are present, could be a tad piercing at times. Heavy mid bass, the 11mm drivers you can hear as much as you can feel. Soundstage is pretty enclosed and not very spacious. Volume control can be done by swiping on the earbuds which works well (down to increase volume, up to decrease). There seems to be no way to turn off the adaptive ANC, long pressing on the earbuds just switches between adaptive ANC and transparency mode. Transparency mode sounds quite unnatural. Taking either bud out of the ears will stop playback, which is quite irritating for me. Putting any of the earbuds in the ear will resume playback. I hope this in ear detection can be turned off. Unfortunately the pixel buds app keep crashing, so there's no way to find out what I can do with the app.
