Wireless bluetooth EAR BUDS recommendations

From Gadgetfreakloh and doki's explanation, i guess its an unfortunate flaw which is kinda irritating that i have to pause or have it dropout for as long as when passing by shops with the security scanners/train doors, i'm not sure if doing 1 to 1 exchange would fix it if the batches all uses magnetic induction..

This seems to be a huge flaw and i'm surprised why other users in UK, US etc aren't affected. Other twe like E8s and Bose, both earbuds has direct connection to the phone? And not a master/slave connection like the Jabras?

Jaybird X2 and Bose QC35 does not have such connections issue.

Jaybird X2 and Bose QC35 does not have such connections issue.

Yes E8 also magnetic induction. Same for Bragi Dash. Advantages are less lag. Video lag are typically lesser on magnetic induction than Bluetooth type.

I am using Sport Elite for more than 1.5 yrs. Paired with iPhone 6 PLUS, never had a drop issue at all.

But that said, I usually only use it for running etc. Therefore chances of me in the "crowded" zone should be lesser.
Maybe I should try using it once in public crowded area and check it out.

Have no idea about QC35. None of my Sonys dropped out (MDR1000x and WI-1000X)
I only had 1 skipped drop out WI1000x when I was using it in Frankfurt Airport.

However, Jaybird is a different story. It is bad. They change a new set for me, it is still bad. (1st gen Freedom). It keeps disconnecting and after 1-2 months of use, it refuses to charge anymore. Its the same even for the new replacement unit.

Sport Elite I had is the older version with 3hr use time. Its enough for me. However, current one I had is the 2nd one. After using it for 1 yrs, the batt refuses to hold charge more than 1hr. It is still usable but I went for 1-1 exchange before warranty ends.

Now I have a "new" sport elite (3hr version) and it is going strong even after more than 6 months.

One thing about batteries that maybe you guys should note. These small devices, including their Charging box batt, are actually "small". Meaning, you should not charge them using a fast high current chargers like 2.4A.

I strongly recommend you look for good USB chargers that is 1A or lesser. This way, you will definitely be able to extend the battery life and it works much better.
This was recommended through various forums as such small current devices will gradually be destroyed through harsh charging methods.

If you cannot find good chargers, I am waiting for the new Xiaomi Batt which is powerbank 2 10k I think, that has a low current mode to charge low powered devices.
Now I am actively looking for good chargers not more than 500mA. Strange right? haha

You can charge from your desktop USB port? I don't think the amp is high

Use the normal USB2 ports, not the USB-C or USB3 ones.

Sport elite, try get it spinfit CP100. This works very well as it sits deep and comfortable.
Brings up the bass a big notch.

Go Stereo with you headset and try the 3 sizes.
I recommend try BOTH sides as both your ears are different. It cost $15+ for 2 pairs.

I try comply TW, works but do not last since I run a lot with it.

I tried 65t and find the bass more enhanced. But shouldn’t be that much diff Sport Elite.
But the Fit definitely much better for 65t

TW on market now is using BT for phone to master earbud. However for master to slave can be either magnetic or Bluetooth depending on manufacturer. Both has it's pros n cons. Bluetooth type needs a robust Bluetooth antenna because the slave earbud is block by the head skull. That will also contribute to more buffering to compensate for connection error and normally more video lag. However magnetic type will be more robust and can travel thru the head skull. This makes the connection faster and will have less video lag. Of course will have interference if near any magnetic source.

Thinking of getting the jabra sports elite (4.5h) version from Stereo. Having second thoughts after seeing some members having connectivity problems...

I’m using Jabra Elite Sports 4.5 hours. The only time i received connection drop off is when I alight the bus and walked pass the EZ-Link card scanner. However it doesn’t happen all the time. Other than that, connection is solid.

All TWE will have connectivity dropouts at some point of time when there are overwhelming interfere. I find the Jabra Elite has less of it during my review.

Ah ok, cos I scrolled back a few pages and it seems like Jabras and Samsung's are the most popular TWEs, didn't seem like anyone was talking about the Sonys. Wanted to pick up a pair but Amazon reviews are full of connectivity problems, so now a bit hesitant ...

I recall it was being discussed before. I just finished reviewing and sadly it was underwhelming, considering I have had high hopes on the 1000 series. The neckband and headphones are excellent, but the TWE version is not so.

Love the unique design but ANC is not aggressive, audio is generally clean, little compression artefacts considering it only supports SBC codec. The fit is not IEM-style tight, not like Bragi or Jabra sports fit, although they never fall off during my runs.

i have chance to demo it when they pre-ordering it but it's not really fancy me..the SQ is too balanced..and one side of the earpiece..signal keep dropping.

the staff told me it can be due the unit they got is pre-production unit..but this really make a huge bad impression for me. as if you going to send the demo unit for the shop for consumer to decide on their pre-order and yet you give them a unit which full of issues.. how do you expect consumer to pre-order it?
