i can't show you my pic .. .

but u can refer to the sample over here.

http://www.ali2.com/products/Clearer%2d%2d%2dAli2-indoor-Network-Camera-{47}-IP-Camera.html

The comparison photo of the color distortion is no longer accurate it seems, cos FOSCAM
had already done the bug fix on the red color and black colored distortion. Mine doesn't
seems to have the RED color issue and black becomes purple issue.

As along as firmware upgrade is done, the color issue will be resolved.

Just to share some info for third party software.
I tried the following software:
1. Blue Iristhe best software
Pro: web-server, fast internet streaming of video (java, jpeg or activeX), able to record h264 (low compression) with audio, able to review the recording via internet. overlay of date, wide range of supported ip cameras.Low cost.
Con: terrible mobile (iphone/ipad) web interface

2. WebcamXP
Pro: web-server, nice web interface for browsing, overlay of date, wide range of supported ip cameras, history of snapshot.
Con: Costly, too complicated video recording (need to convert the video to compress the size), no audio on recording

3. IP Camera Super Client
Pro: Free, low compression recording
Con: no web-server, no audio on recording, no overlay of date

4. H264WebCam
Pro: very low compression recording
Con: costly, audio on recording is unclear, buggy software, unable to overlay the date

My DVR server is an ITX intel atom with 2GB and 2x 1.5tb HDD.

Why do you say Blue Iris has terrible web interface for iphone/ipad?

FI, I'm using Blue Iris for my Win 7 Pro netbook, iPad & iPhone running 10 DLINK cameras and I'm very happy with its performance

New Firmware Released. There is a new firmware available which
resolved the network pathing and/or local path saving for the
FOSCAM FI8918W.

Firmware Version: 11.22.2.38
Web IU Version: 2.4.18.17

This will allow the end-user to save the recording locally or
across the network on a NAS on a different directory.

The firmware can be downloaded via our website.

http://marix3g2.dyndns.org/marix/downloads/foscam/FI8918W-1122238.zip

To upgrade the firmware, it is recommended to use wired connection.

1. Download the file above and unzip the file to your desktop
2. Use the IP Camera Tool to locate the camera
3. Do a right click on the camera and select Upgrade Firmware
5. Do the System firmware upgrade first, then the web UI.
Each file is located under the sub-directory called
"system firmware" & "webUI firmware"
4. Note that each firmware upgrade will restart the camera once.

And to allow recording to NAS, you must do the following

1. On your web browser (IE9), select Internet Options >
Security > Trusted Sites
2. Add the local camera IP address or Internet IP address
(e.g. marixdemo-fi8918w.dyndns.org) into the Trusted Site.
3. Restart your browser
4. Go to your FI8918W web interface as ADMIN account
5. select Administrator > Users Settings > Browse to your NAS
directory whereyou want to save the recordings. (You must
already have network access to the NAS or device)
6. Return to your camera Device Status interface
(default screen after login)

Now you can record to your network device via the web interface.
But you will need to leave the browser open in order to record.
So, get a QNAP NAS would be better!

Those end users who have trouble doing the upgrade of the
firmware by yourself, we can offer the service to you. Do
check with us @ 65623390 or email us @ sales.enquiry@marix.com.sg

Can anyone recommend to me a PTZ IP camera for home day time monitoring + recording function with a budget up to $1K?
I have a QNAP 4-Bay NAS and Dlink 655 router setup, hoping to access the IP camera from workplace with WEB IU.
Any IP Camera recommendation are welcome. Thanks.

PTZ? So far D-Link only has 10x Optical zoom, Vivotek also has a
2x or 4x Zoom model, but not here in Singapore. If you want just plain
Pan/Tilt, try FI8918W from FOSCAM perhaps? If you need to access
our demo link, let me know. The QNAP can be used to record the
camera (Up to 4).

Just like to make a correction, I tested again and the color distortion will
still be there if viewed under sun light condition. Hence a IR-cut filter is
required in order to see corrected color. Think MARIX is bring in the
AGASIO range soon when I called them about this issue. They were really
nice to acknowledge this limitation and had feedback to the manufacturer
to include IR-cut filter, but seems that nothing is being action from source.

Maybe can consider AGASIO range instead, I'm placing a pre-order
with MARIX for 1 unit and will give you guys the review once I
setup and tested it.

so means upgrading the FOSCOM firmware doesn't help compare to another camera with IR-Cut filter lens.

actually from my camera, they seems to have improved the quality as
compared to last time. But in strong direct sunlight, you can still see the
different in color. Anyway, read through foscam's forum. There isn't any
add-on available.

So, I guess, I'll try out Agasio first and do a comparison first. Foscam
still considered a cheap alternative for people who is not being bothered
about real color.

True, at the end, FOSCOM non-IR filter cut still meets the min. requirement of those who purchase.. unlike .. after using the IR_lens.. very particular already.
