Hi all

I intend to get a camera to monitor what my dog is doing at home. Preferably able to view via an app instead of the browser. Any recommendation? Budget is less than $50. I tried looking at gumtree and carousell for second hands and it's mainly aztech. Are they good? Thanks!

Never had a chance to use Aztechs. Which model is under SGD 50?

For Dlink it would be DCS 930L I would think. Goes at SGD29 during fair, IIRC. Its 640x480 fyi.

Dat said, I have bought from Carousel as well. in one case, the unit from Carousel was better than my unit which I bought directly during fair. Didnt know it was crap, until I had a back to back comparison. :) :)

hello guys, i am looking for a ip camera to used for my home usage. basically if it is able to move all around and the image viewed isnt very bad, i guess that should be fine for me? is there any brand or model i could consider from dlink or sineoji brand?

DLinks range would be 5222L, 5020L and 5030L. Have seen second hand 5222L units going for about SDG 90/100. Not too bad. Its 720p, and from what I gather here on this forum, I would say the image from the Sineoji wins. But that said, I have not owned or tried a Sineoji yet.

After my Pinay maid got caught in abeting to housebreakin/ illegal trespasses of my property, I fix e whole house with IP cameras, changed a few locks, thereafter she tried to steal e keys when it was hung at e door, after much warning, she secretly throw it under e bed, up until today she's still trying to find a way to let e intruder in
(opposite neighbour she had seduce).
First is for sex in your house/bed/couch etc, thereafter lots of behaviorial issues retorting, mocking, rebelling, crying, yelling, then a pregnant maid, then theft, then runaway. Then lies and stories to frame you.

So it's very important for anyone who has a helper at home to install CCTV, and preferably some hidden ones, albeit they are gonna try to find e hidden cams too. It can help to point one camera to e other camera as well. Lastly Keep e HDD in a separate lock room (study/home office).

Hi, just wanna check with every one here
Anybody know how to fast forward the video on the iPhone itself? Tried to view from pc and phone, no ways to do it.

No worries.

You can browse the history of the recorded clips with the Sineoji app.

1. Go to multimedia
2. Select remote
3. Select the camera
4. Hit the search button - iPhone (do not change the default dates, leave it as it is)
5. recorded clips will appear

Clips with filenames begin with A are the motion clips that has been recorded.
Clips with filenames begin with P are the daily recorded clips, non-stop.

You can fast forward...

get the ip of the camera first. Then enter the ip on chrome browser of your PC

e.g. 192.168.x.x:8081/sd

You will be prompted for the username and password of the ipcam.

It will bring you to the root directory of the sdcard. A folder "record", open up that and select any files that has been recorded. Use VLC Player, you can fast forward as you watch.

RE: Sineoji PT498 view up-side down

I installed Sineoji PT498 successfully and was able to view for a few days. After about a week later, when I turned on the IP camera again and viewed it from my hp, the view was upside down. The image was inverted (left became right). I tried to uninstall and reinstall the app on my hp, turn off the ip camera and restart it again, the view remains the same.

Can anyone advise on how I can get the image right again?

That is easy, there is a button on the app to invert the image upside down or left and right.

Touch the live video, you will see all the buttons show up. Touch the button on the upper left corner and you will see the first 2 buttons with a triangle image.

1st button to invert the image upside down
2nd button to flip the image left and right.

Hi,

Im reading through the thread but theres too many pages. did anyone mention about the security of such app like Tinycam?

I feel rather paranoid that the cams will be streaming through a third party app.

Thanks

Having wired up much of my house with Foscams by myself, I I would like to share the following :

- Tinycam paid app (android only) is good for live monitoring, with many features. it is frequently updated, check their website for compatibility with your camera brand, they even take requests.

- I find SD card recording unreliable, there is only so much the small chip on the IP camera can handle. with multiple log-ins, camera still has to detect motion and record, plus user logging in to view playback.
this often leads to disconnects/reboots/hangs etc.

- a better recording solution would be dedicated NVR (cheap ones dont really cut it either, they dont have enough processing power to handle multiple FHD streams)

- better still imo is have a PC running CCTV recording/monitoring software e.g Blue Iris, ISpy.

- i have read that many favour 24/7 recording so that nothing is missed, since motion detection recording does not work 100% for wadeva reason. Coupled with motion alerts emails & snapshots, this scheme should give the best coverage.

Any Sineoji PT528V users can help to answer my query?
1.) Does the IR LED visible at night when turn on?
2.) How is the speaker quality? If I will to speak through my handphone to my maid at home, is she able to hear me clearly?

Thanks in advance.

IR lights is visible but on the dimmer side.

Audio is loud enough when you speak on hand phone. You can hear from the camera.

Oh, 1 more question. In that case, is it possible from the Apps to turn the IR LED off/on/auto?

While I can understand the need and why we all pu cameras at home....

In this instance, taking what was written above, would you not consider changing the maid?:eek:
