Woke up this morning n saw that VStarcam had changed their T7838WIP to 3.6mm LENs. Suspect the LENs same as those used in the T6835WIP. Hmmm...

I just checked the Specs page for T7838WIP. Still showing it as 4.2mm.

If 3.6mm, then the IP cam would be wider, and should therefore show a wider FOV (field of view).

Is anyone using Dropcam here?
It is US$150 per camera + US$100 / year for 7 days archive backup & US$50 for each additional camera.

Dropcam records and upload 24 / 7 and you can access live video from Dropcam servers via mobile apps, desktop etc. It gets great reviews on Amazon:

Features of this camera:
https://www.dropcam.com/features

I think I am leaning towards this solution instead of playing with different cameras, NAS and licensing support etc. Dropcam uploads data constantly in HD so as someone mentioned on Amazon, expect around 60 GB of upload per month per camera it seems - but this should not concern us with no limits anyway.

There is alternative of Wireless Security Camera System | Wireless Surveillance Camera | iWatchLife using Samsung camera, but I read the camera is slightly worse than Dropcam and Iwatchlife doesn't record / upload all the time, only when alert is triggered. I don't think this solution appeals to me.

Actually, any camera that records constantly to NAS, the performance of the camera will be reduced due to the constant feeds it supplies over the network.

So, uploading files to NAS, I am a bit skeptic on the feasibility of such implementation at the end of the day still. VStarcam is approaching this method as well but not sure whats the outcome so far...

I saw from MARIX website, they seems to have update earlier than the factory

Dr_ARCHer, can you show the gif file on your posts on the 1st page? I bought a new router and need to setup again for accessing via mobile devices but forgotten how to do it. Thanks.

Give me some time. I believe I have the screenshots on one of my hard disk/NAS. Will try to dig them up and upload to a more permanent storage.

Which router are you using? Typical steps would involve (a) registering for a dynamic DNS service; (b) configuring the router to enable port forwarding; (c) configuring your IP camera to work with your router; (d) configuring your mobile app to enable remote viewing.

Vstarcam H6837WIP not working

Hi friends,

Need a urgent help from you all. I am having a Vstarcam H6837WIP. It was working fine. But last week we changed our internet to Starhub Fibre. After that I am unable to view the cam remotely (through wifi and 3g). If I connect the cam directly to the router through cable, I can see the things through cam. But I am unable to see the new router SSID through the cam settings, to configure it to work remotely. I am using Dlink 865L AC router.
Can somehow advice how to solve this issue...

had tried several times successfully to "Add camera" on Samsung Note 2 and S2 for vstarcam T7848WIP after launching the 'VsCam' app but it still show 'no online camera". May someone assist how can I override this issue.

Yea. The ssid cannot be viewed via cam. The channel is set to auto and currently it is showing as 13.

H6837WIP only supports up to channel 11 lah... This was mentioned before. If you ask your reseller, they should have told you also.

Did you connect your camera to the router? Does your LAN port blinks? Call the tech support for help if no

Hi geckoSG,
Since the T7838WIP was setup a few days ago with the Aztech Homeplug (wifi extender) in the hall, I had successfully 'Add Camera' with online view on the iPhone 3GS, iPad 2 and 2013 Nexus 7 except Samsung Note 2 and S2. Thus I suspect that it might be some setting on the android phones I need to make adjustment.
