I am not familiar with M1 fibre, but it seems that the Huawei and the Asus are on different LAN segament i.e. one is 192.168.0.X while the other is on 192.168.1.X. Are you sure this is correct? Check the M1 thread for configuring the HG256 and the RT-N56U.

Ya thats what i initially thought but it will clash either way if i set it both to 192.168.1.1.

Unless i do a the HG256 to 192.168.1.1 and the N56 to 192.168.1.2?

Anyone using Vstarcam H6837WIP managed to record video with audio successfully?

It seems no matter whether you're recording to SD card or local harddisk, or record remotely the streaming video, there is no sound with the video. Does it mean that audio cannot be recorded?

Any suggestions?

For audio recording to local hard disk, you should enable the AUDIO first then do the recording. Must be via webUI.

will try that out later and see if it works.....

Hi All,

Just to share with you, I managed to get it to work via DDNS and Local network.

I configured the N56 to AP and did all settings on the RG for port forwarding etc etc.....

Finally.......after many many many many resets........ at least it is stuck in my head now for good lol!

Thanks for all who contributed one way or another.....much appreciated.

im using tplink to replace my bb. how to open the ports so that i can view live feed from my aztech ip cam ?

I just learned that the TP Link router had some issues with the forwarding or etc..... The same problem I had while trying to configure it manually......

So i dumped it and got an Asus RT-N56U and used it as an Access Point connected to the RG256 and all port forwarding is done on the RG256 itself.

Hopefully it can save you time from trying to configure the TP Link with not much success......

Collected my 10x Optical Zoom V6834W from MARIX today. Their Office so packed with people collecting their H6837WIP. Had to wait for a while before my turn.

Gonna start setting up now and have some fun with it. Also saw a camera similar to Foscam's FI8910W, but according to MARIX's staff, the model is megapixel HD camera, model is E7839WIP, its not available on VStarcam's website yet.

I've applied to their management to be the tester for the unit. Now pending approval... :p

In the meantime, back to playing with my new camera!

Dlink Cams Mobile Apps compatible ipcam

hi ALL,

i am using 2 IPCAMs (DLink DCS-5220 and SparkLan CS-673W)
i am using Iphone which i purchased the Dlink ipcam apps (D-link Cams)

because i had already paid for apps and lucky that
i am able to use the apps to view both my ipcam (small quarter windows)
at the same time.

does anyone here use this D-link Cams apps on iphone? if yes, is there any other brand of ipcam is compatible with this apps ?
i just dont want to have different apps to view different ipcams.
worst case i will need to get another Dlink or SparkLan but i like to try another made.

Any advise?

Thanks!

Hi anyone has used Vstarcam with Synology NAS before?

My recently bought Vstarcam works fine on desktop, wired and wireless.

But when I want to use my Synology NAS to view the ip camera, I do not know which brand and camera model to select as it seems that Vstarcam is not a supported brand.

I have used the Synology NAS to link up with a Foscam ip camera before and it works well.

Anyone has any idea what to choose? Thanks.

Hi all,

Any one with DLink DCS 5230L experiencing intermittent d/c? I got 3 sets and they all have the same problem. I already swapped out the wireless router with another set but I still have the same problem.

Maybe I should make a trip down to Marix offices and see what cameras I can get. I'm always on the look-out for new models. In fact, it's almost a fetish. :)

/videostream.cgi from your synology surveillance station. Note that it is not optimized, so you will see slow and grainy video instead.

Do call them before you turn up, cos they are mostly on the move.
Yeah! This weekend, I get to test the new E7839WIP (HD). Collecting
it later from their office at 2PM.

Will provide a review soon if I'm allowed to post here. For HD streaming, I think we need at least 4Mbps upload speed and 4Mbps download speed. So, I reckon this will work for those with Fibre @ home and similar speed in office, provided that no firewall is used.
