The monitoring area is about 1.5m in width and 3m in length.

Only managed to take them out of the boxes. Haven't tried setting them up. But the external casing is darn solid and heavy. Makes me feel I'm getting my money's worth.

Outdoor IP camera

Hi Dr Archer,
EasyN has an equivalent model H3-V10R. It is really heavy so the installation requires some skill. Do you know what is the size of the SD card That comes with the camera?

I have a sudden requirement for several types of IP cams ('cos of my first baby and new business) and was wondering if the experts here could provide some advice. I have never used any IP cams before but do know abit here and there after an afternoon of research on the net.

So here are the few types of Cams that I need :
A) General outdoor surveillance
B) Outdoor surveillance for a 70m range
C) Outdoor surveillance for dusty warehouse environment
D) Surveillance for 1 degree celsius environment
E) General indoor surveillance for baby and sole employee in office
F) General indoor surveillance for a 15m range

In all cases, no necessity for recording to NAS but require the following :
-- Day and night surveillance (quite duh.. but yea...)
-- Local recording to SD or microSD card
-- Viewing capability on Andriod phone AND ipad
-- Ease of use and installation / set-up
-- No problem if local drilling is required
-- Preferably no maintenance required
-- Wireless n
-- max $300 budget per piece
-- PTZ preferred if can be within budget
-- 1280x720 resolution preferred if can be within budget

Im not sure whether a different cam is required for each of the above use or there is some super cam out there that can do all the above. Also Im not in favour of the traditional CCTV systems as I feel they require lots of drilling and cabling and not future proof. But of cos open to suggestions .

Please recommend some cams that you guys feel will fit my requirements. Thanks lots in advance for all the advice provided!

Sorry, did I read your msg correctly? If you r an agent for EasyN in Singapore, how come you do not know the size of the storage card that your camera can support? Lolz...

Maybe you should check the max capacity on your manufacturer's website for details... OMG, wonder how can any buyers be certain that they can receive technical support if the agent still need to come to forum to ask non-users for information on their own product.

Sorry to be so blunt, it is the first time I felt so offended with an agent asking such question on a tech forum instead of giving us information to make buying decision...

I'm not here to offend anyone, but looks like you misunderstood my question. I've seen many camera's having the same mechanical housing as the one mentioned by Dr Archer. Just to make sure the public is aware that most manufacturer's get the same housing and internal assembly. The reference design is the same. If any one of you out there needs advise on IP camera please google easynsg and you will find the answers you need if you encounter problems with most of the ip cameras.

You may find EasyN model: H3-V10R fits your requirement for A) General outdoor surveillance. As for E) H3-137V will suffice. Your generic requirements of day and night survellance and so on are met. As for your requirements B, C, D and F these are not common requirements here. You will need to write in. I'm not sure if the EasyN factory has ex-stock and you are willing to wait. Any way you may google easynsg and write in directly to find out more.

JaeDees, I suggest u call MARIX, they have an outdoor which can meet all ur requirement less ur 1 degree environment. Btw, u operating cams under cold storage situation? Price within ur budget also. Myself n Dr Archer had bought the T7833WIP, with 3 x Optical Zoom somemore.

Note tat we r not related to them. Just happy customers.

Bought a COMPRO IP 570 to replace my Dlink 5220 a few weeks ago and so far and it is serving me well. Paid almost $800, GST & shipping, for it though.

I believe both EasyN and VStarCam are based in Shenzhen. The two models seem to have similar specs, althoughthe 7833 has a smallet fstop of 1.4 instead of 2.0. Not sure about the SD card. I don't record video anyway.

Spongy, any mobile software for use with compro IP 570. For the price, 12x zoom is awesome.

They have an official software but it couldn't work with this model, so I am guessing that it is meant for the lower end models. I am using both IP Cam Viewer Pro and tiny cam pro for my Panasonic and Compro. The Compro one has better pictures compared to my old Dlink DCS5220 and Panasonic BL-C230A. Guess that is a given due to the hefty price tag.

Anyway, the zoom is ok so far as it does autofocus for you when you zoom, but lighting is important. I uses the IP Cam viewer pro for the zoom function. The Compro also supports 2 -way audio but it requires a separate speaker. The app can transmit loudly to the speaker (active ones) but not the other way around. I have used the Monster ClarityHD bluetooth (have to wire it) but I get echo if I try to speak through it. I am getting a standalone microphone from DX.com and hope that it will resolve this issue. The other app Tiny Cam pro is better for listening but it only supports one-way audio.

Yes, you are right, for that price, the specs is great but the reviews are a bit mixed so far. And it has 340 degree panning capability!

If you are looking to use wireless IP camera for your business, I suggest you look at it in totality from a security perspective. That means alarms, intruder alerts, surveillance, locks/time locks, motion/infrared detection etc. Most wireless IP cameras have several points of failure e.g. it is dependent onpower, router connectivity etc. You should look at total security.

For me, I use wireless IP camera more for as ad hoc monitoring of my kids. There is no redundancy, no high availability.

Same here, I am using it to check that my kids does their homework and not spend too much time on computers.

Wow. Didn't hear from Compro for many years now. They used to make graphics card and TV tuners, I think. You could get their products locally in Singapore then. Seems to have disappeared from the Singapore market in recent years though.

Wireless IP camera's stability for security surveillance

Hi,
I'm new here but definitely has many years of experience in electronics industry. The stability of wireless systems can be improved if we know the RF environment and the system point to point margin interms of TX power and RX sensitivity. By RF environment, it can be that the 2.4GHz system is swarmed. So to improve wireless stablity, we should have sufficient margin interms of link budget. Well, if u google history of VStarcam, they r the main group of key technology people in easyN who jumps ship n left easyN to startup on their own.

If I do apple to apple comparison, VStarcam is definitely better. I used H3 compared to H6837Wi n VStarcam's MJPEG series to compared against F2 back then. It was clearly that VStarcam is a winner. Note that the models I had compared back then was the top selling range from both companies. Why I buy easyN? Simple, dirt cheap price back then, as if it was going for closing down sales.

Some bros have bought over my easyN after I decided that it wasn't good enough for me after trying to get the china tech support to fix a bug n got very frustrated.

Well, thats my personal experience over the 2 brands.
