Your camera requires port forwarding? This seems to b a missing step here

Hi geckoSG,

I used the virtual server settings found in my dlink router to allow outside access to my cameras. Not sure if that is the same as port forwarding.

Those settings used to work when i was on SH maxonline, but not on SH fibre now.

My cameras have all their private ports set to 80 and they are forwarded to individual (different) public ports in the virtual server settings. I read something about SH fibre blocking port 80 but i'm not sure if this is the problem for me.

FYI, I am still able to access my access point via the exactly the same settings, just not the cameras. Baffling...

Can u connect your office laptop, using ur mobile phone as a tether hotspot? I woukd inagine the portforwarding shd b working u can access from office... unless u r having a soho... heh... and with your laptop, u can do telnet test to confirm if the public port is opened on internet. I would think that starhub does block 80/tcp... if not, many ppl will run web hosting services cheaply at home...

Good idea. Just tethered my laptop to my smartphone and it cannot connect to the cameras. Switched it back to office network and everything connects again.

It would seem something is blocking the mobile network from accessing my cameras.

I'm using port 80 as my private ports to my cameras. These are in turn forwarded to indvidual 333xx port numbers, each to one camera. So technically, to SH, I'm not using port 80 for my cameras, right?

Cld b your router does not support diff port virtual server mapping. Try setting your ip cams to diff port like 81, 82, 83 on internal. Then map external 81, 82, 83 to these ports.

Depends. 1megapixel can b 1024 x 720 resolution, 2megapixel can b 1920 x ???

Btw, do not use Eye4 for Vstarcam. Use VSCam. Eye4 app buggy for now.

Btw, pre-order for T7837WIP-AR in my MO is cancelled. Marix is refunding those who placed deposit for the camera. I tested also. English version not ready for international market.

I have a spare dlink 5020L. If you dun need recording to sd it might do the trick.

Hey guys

Looking for outdoor (weatherproof) wireless IP cam. It will be under rain and shine 24x7. I'd seen the vstarcam dome but looks really big. Any other suggestions?

TIA!!

Compare to those commercial type. Its small. Smallest size would be d-link bullet outdoor wired. U saw Vstarcam's T7850WIP? Bullet wireless. Saw on vr-zone some setup photos posted by marix. Maybe u can consider that.

Anyone know of an android app that works with Vstarcam T series that does not let the user adjust settings and security. I want to use it so I can let visitors see a cam. Thanks!

I tried Viewer for Vstar IP Cameras but I can't get it to work with gocam.so.

Hi,
Anyone uses Wanscam or NEO coolcam lately? Both of their price are cheaper now. Just want to find out what are the difference. I believe both are using "cloud" technology. It's different from the normal ip setup. They have their own proprietary software and may not be access by 3rd party apps like "IPcam Viewer".

Actually, I more interested in their alarm I/O output. Less few brands have this feature. Foscam is one of them does not have the I/O feature, strange though..

Most cam nowsaday uses pnp technology already... its ultimately the stability of each brand. I used to have a 3x zoom of neo coolcam. Died in 8 months.

most of the china made cams have external IO ports to receive signal from external input. You sure wanscam n neo have output and not input?
