Maybe developers are so modern that they think everything will be wireless. After all, we are already using more handphones and tablets than desktops and even laptops.

Your neighbours' router is cranked all the way up to 200 mW, but there is nothing you can do about the wireless signal pollution. At least with noise and light, you can tell them to tone down the intensity, but with wireless, you need to erect lead walls to keep out the RF interference.

Tats why structure cabling will help. At least u can setup multiple APs around the room or wired connection. Repeaters n homeplugs have their limitations n may not b the best choice when electric wiring r old

I do not recommend Marix.
You can never expect to get any quotation from the onsite installers they use (been chasing Marix for days) which unfortunately my site needs electrical power supply extension.

Poor thing, guess you got into their manpower crunch. Recently, they got a lot of installation schedules. Even had to work OT to complete the installation works.

I also had to Q for my structure cabling work for my production office in Changi.

But if you have your own electrician to extend the power, you can get your own electrician to extend the power and then buy the cameras and DIY, not very hard to install.

The audio recording is not good on vstarcam. Never want to use it. Files r 15min per clip. Propietary format. Movement detection got. But 50/50 hit n misses. But live stream n app usage is good

Yah. Many chinese made cams uses this same format nowsaday. They have their own players.

U can try other brands like d-link, but do manage expectation. Cos using software algorithm will disappoint u most of the time.

If u seriously need hardware type. vstarcam's T7837WIP-AR coupled with optional PIR sensor works good. My colleague bought 1 recently n initial test result is encouraging. But the new PIR sensor is not listed on their site yet.

Think not much general users due to pricing, only a handful appreciate the R&D n support. Nowsaday, all want cheap cameras. Not expensive cameras.

I am one of them. :p

Samsung's presence in the Singapore's IP camera market is only fairly recent, so you don't see a large user base here. Panasonic has been available in Singapore for a while, but feature per dollar wise, they are not that competitive, particularly when there are OEM models that are less than half the price of a Panasonic. Most of Panasonic's models do not have IR night vision capability, a feature that I find to be extremely important.

I have over 30 cameras of different brands, but I only have one Panasonic model (BL-VT164) and one Samsung model (SNH-P6410BN).

Hi Guys,

I been reading this forum for quite abit. I am looking to install one camera in the living room as we are planning to hire a Maid to help my mum on her housework.

Seems like VStarCam are quite favorable to most of users here. I went to the vendor website and tested a few demo. Pretty quite amaze on the quality.

I am looking on T7838WIP model. Wonder does it really fit into my purpose? I might need to keep a week of video log for safety purpose.

Importantly is the quality which you actually see for yourself over the demo. If you reduce the quality to LOW. (VGA, 2Mbps, that should last you over 1 week estimated)

Went in to marix's website and saw their latest GSS promotion, pricing very attractive.

T7837WIP-AR is $139 instead of promo $159
T7835WIP/T7838WIP (Local) are $119
T7835WIP/T7838WIP (Export) are only $109

Hi geckoSG,

Yup I saw it thru their demo using my android phone. Does this cam support transfer video records to NAS?

Looking at this model: T7837WIP-AR

I don't really need the Built-In-Alarm features as my main purpose is recording. Any big difference on video recording between T7837WIP-AR and T7838WIP?

Ok. I've just done a simple quick review on the VStarcam NVS. Its their version of the network video server (max 4 cams) for use on the T & C Series.

I used a 1TB HDD for my recordings. Not an essential, but a nice to have "lenovo" tablet look-a-like (fatter brother).

Waiting for my C series to come. And see if it works with my existig cloud dvr that I bought from marix. Seems that many of the existing C series on the market, the ONVIF is not working at all.

bigfoot,

You may like to consider our T7838WIP (VStarcam).

Available at Challenger Funan, Vivocity, AMK HUB, IMM, JEM, Jurong Point, Tampines ONE.

Not sure whether I got a lemon... Mine always have problem power on correctly.. Since day, it either emits an subtle "hisss..." sound or unbearably loud "buzzzz".. This is really bad quality considering I was then using it for my baby.. I tried to use it recently... Probably power on successfully 1 out of 20 times..

I will not recommend Y7838WIP.
