T series quite OK now, best for own online test before you buy. They have demo online 24x7, test Liao, feel it then you decide. ;)

The bugs are still there. I am on T series, i am well aware of how "capable" it is.

The camera sends the feed direct to your phone if there is no routing problem. I used to b able to view direct streaming without the relay mode. Since our telcos announced the traffic shaping of mobile network to optimise the user experience, I have not been able to get direct connection anymore. When relay mode kicks in, you see a timer kinda small icon on right side of the screen

direct streaming: that is the issue with vstarcam, not for other brand cams.

Ok, just tested out of fun. Robert Chou's IP Cam Viewer can connect to T Series camera, you can hear n listen also from the camera. So, in case anyone does not wish to use the cloud based PNP, then you can proceed to the third party apps.

Only so called bugs I do see is perhaps the IR sensor which is very sensitive to low lighting that it triggers its filter even when we feel that we can see the room clearly.

i need to run an IP CAM on battery bank due to vandalism outside my home. I cant have it on AC as it might alert the vandal that the camera is there. We have a suspect in mind however legal has requested for some evidence.

I was thinking of running the cam on Xiaomi powerbank which i have. The cam only needs to record/capture images when motion is detected outside the house and save it to cloud with an email notification. No Pan or Tilt needed. It also needs to be small so that i can hide it somewhere. I am not too sure how long the powerbank will last but i can have it charged every weekend if required. Recommendations please on which cam will be suitable.

what you need is those spycam kind of stuff. not an ipcam.

assuming regular spycam is around 700mah and last 2 hours.

the 10000mah powerbank should be able to push 24 hours.

but note you would have quite a bit of stuff to hide. spy cam, and then battery bank, and wires.

I have a foscam wired and a wireless Samsung smartcam.
Both have same problem.

It will disconnect connection for no reason. Not reliable

Hi all, need some advice here.

We've set up the Aztech camera, and can view via mobile phone but not via the company computer as IT have restrict ActiveX. Any idea if this can be overcome?

Hi all,

I need install a cam to catch breaking of locks for cupboards at a wet market store (relative's store).

I am trying to avoid too many equipments and wiring of using a DVR/NVR (Power cord unavoidable).

So i am thinking of using a IP Cam that does recording to SD card.
but sorry don't mind if i ask a stupid question first: Does it record without connecting to any network?

Why i am asking this is because i saw Sineoji cams at the IT Show but the staffs told me need network to record.

Regards,
Leon

if wired still disconnected. More like routing issue over network... it may not b the camera. Could b your router or even the IP address range (external) that you are having

Leon,

Perhaps a wired DVR could be better for catching a theft in supermarkets than IP Cameras

If activex is not allowed, there are reasons for it. Use your mobile phone to view n tap onto your coporate wifi if they allow it.
