Already tested. 400mA to 500mA. If power bank trully 16000mAh, it should last 16000/500 which is much longer than what lizard claims. BTW, most power bank made in China are using under capacity batteries. (similar to recycled batteries). So dont play play. I 'actually' do know what I'm doing.

All this blaming and blabbing is not helping anyone. Just making it more confusing. So please no more unconstructive criticism on any brand. It must be backed by data.

so how many actual hours did you get from xiaomi's powerbank or which brand powerbank r u using to run the camera? The hours i m sharing is based on actual running results. i dont believe in paper calculations as other factors including quality of wiring used will come in.

Anyone can contribute their powerbank supply results, it will benefit the community here. So, hope to see more people share their powerbank related setup as well. Share with us the brand of your powerbank too.

The xiaomi or similar feature powerbanks also serves as a UPS for your IP Cameras in an event of power failures. So based on your needs, you can select the size of powerbanks for standby time.

Lizard, if you publish 16000mAh, you need to meet specifications. If not, it's a fake or deception. I'm sharing to make sure people do not get cheated.

Yes, recycled batteries are batteries that have aged. That means many times charge and discharge. Normally after 500cycles, battery should have 80% of its original capacity. If only half left it could be 1000cycles or more. (ie, about 3 years usage). So 16000mAh battery will probably have 8000mAh capacity.

Well, that's why I said I believe in actual LIVE testing of powerbanks than engineers so-say specifications. Most users rely mainly on test results of others who did actual tests than people who just wack paper specs. Its good to know paper specs. But if there is no LIVE tests done. The reviews will not b trustable source, just look at the mobile section, already got diff reviews on powerbank n their brands.

I share my test results here for the benefits of all users who are Keen with powerbank setups as 'UPS'.

400mA to 500mA current consumption for the cam. The power bank I used stated 10000mAh. Sadly it provided only 6000mAh. The brand if I remember is YUBOW or sounds like that. So I got around 12hours when it could have been 20hours. It's exactly like what you mentioned. After this I have not tried any brand especially after getting disappointing results from this brand. Total I have 3, one tested around 5000mAh, and another around 7000mAh. Seeing your poor results, I just want to caution folks here.

Get these recycled batteries from old notebooks, repack them into power banks and sell it to you at 20x profit. (ie, ex factory price is 2USD, you will pay 40USD for these power banks). Profit = 38USD. WOW!!

I think I am better off setting up an old smartphone for my purpose - instead of buying a small wireless ip camera. Anyone with experience on software? There seems to be quite a lot of them "social media" software like recent meerkat and periscope or there are other ip camera software like AtHome Livestreaming...

Anyone who has gone through this route, do share - please.

PS. I am trying AtHome, very easy to set up but reboots my S3 after 10 seconds!

Come to think of it. Remember the yellow law. Most buyers will buy based on specifications. There is no time to test it or to provide a demo

There's plenty of time for everything. There r plenty of Pple like myself will test what we buy n share the results.

Dr Archer is another one of those who buy a product, shares his views here. Reason why this thread exists.

That's why I state brands, models of product for others to take references before their setups n buy a product.
