Sineoji PT495V 720P HD Indepth-Review (not the basic unboxing and etc)

PT339V-Front-Web-V03.jpg

Got this SINEOJI PT495V - HD 720P for demo purposes, courtesy from Sineoji (Dean and his team).

Details on the Product: http://www.sineoji.com/products/products-details/pt495v-hd-720p

Quick Installation Guide: http://www.sineoji.com/downloads/QIG_PT49X.jpg

CONCLUSION
Setup process is relatively straightforward thanks to the smart Sineoji mobile app that allows for effortless camera management. - Excellent for people who know nuts about IT and wants to perform the installation by yourself.

The camera is noticeably more responsive when you use Internet Explorer.

The Sineoji PT495V 720P HD Wireless Pan & Tilt IP camera gives decent video image quality and is complemented by a decent range of features.

PROS
• SINEOJI Customer Service/Support is the best in the market so far.
• Setup was pretty straightforward by using your mobile app.
• No need for Ethernet cable connection for setting device up.
• Supports up to 128GB MicroSD
• 4 X Motion Detection
• Ability to remove Cloud Sync Feature (hidden feature)
• Preset settings will always go back to where it is saved upon (as compared to Vstarcam - forgetting its preset configuration)
• Supports ONVIF
• Supports Video Mask (to mask part of the camera angle for privacy purposes)

CONS
• Video image quality is decent.
• Affordable but not exactly cheap. Price point is similar to Foscam FullHD camera.
• A lot of hidden features not exposed to the public (DDNS, Disable of Cloud Services, UPnP, AlarmAudio etc).
• Only works on Internet Explorer
• Video will only start recording with a SD card inserted
• Video playback will not work on DDNS (kept throwing "login failed")
• Unable to expand as a Wi-Fi Extender
• Maximum Video Record Time:
  • Alarm Video Record: 13-20seconds (unable to customize this)
  • -- Alarm Recording will be transferred to FTP Server
  • Video Record: 900seconds (unable to configure it longer)
  • -- Video Record will always be interrupted by Alarm Video
  • -- Video Record will not be transferred into FTP Server

Feel free to ask if you require more information.
Will Sineoji help to improve on the product? :o

Hi Gribber,

I have forwarded the pointers to the firmware developers to incorporate in the next firmware release. Meanwhile, a new firmware will be available by early next week to support Chrome and to address some bugs. As of now, IE and FireFox is supported.

As for the video playback, you may login to your ddns and access the Sineoji UI interface in the device information where you can browse your sd card content and playback via VLC. Unless I am missing something ?

Nope, on my intranet - i could see the files in the page on the SD card.
Through DDNS it failed.

I too noticed the following.
On different cams, your http port number changed.

From 80 to 8081. Any particular reason?

As well as the following which im confused about:
- The navigation panel is also kinda "not meaningful" kind of description
- As well as the hidden features (DDNS, p2p and etc)
rhqyx0.jpg

for instance;
Your "Maintain" tab is shown as "Initialize" on the page itself. Wouldn't naming it as "Administration" makes more sense?

And the page doesn't provide any form of descriptions on what each tab/function does as well.

Hi All,

I've got a Synology DS214play in my home network and I intend to setup several cameras to monitor the house while we're out.

I'm looking for contacts or free-lancers to help propose and install the camera system for remote monitoring and recording function.

Any suggestions where should I go to ask for a quote?

Thank you!

hmm, iirc - Synology gave 1 as a bundle, anything more is $.

based on COMEX price
CCTV Surveillance License Pack 1, 4,8
$69 - for 1
$269 - for 4
$511 - for 8

DIY, cheapest :o

If not, go get Sineoji and get help from their engineers?

I'm hoping for a no fuss solution. Ownself do I'm not confident. :(
assuming I setup 4 cams, plus running of power plugs and installation, how much should my budget be? i already own the NAS.

at least $269 for the multi-camera license or ($69 * 3 + 1)

do you require trunking, powerpoints and drilling? If need, i think more expensive.

Hi Gribber

You can access the sdcard content via ddns on an external network. For instance,

Htpp://myipcam.ddns.net:8081/sd

Let me know

Hi Gribber

The parameter such as the p2p Id, ddns will be visible. I am not too sure why yours is hidden. Perhaps if you want to clear your cache in your browser and try again.

The default port is 8081 for all our ipcams.

Noted, it works. Thanks. Just that now i have to download the clips to watch it (more like a workaround).

Appreciate for that :o

i used Chrome, IE11 on multiple computers all yield the same result. Clearing cache doesn't show either.

Additional Test with Firefox:
Video play well on Firefox.
On Firefox, P2P ID, DDNS and other mentioned feature remain missing.

Additional suggestion:
Will we be able to change the volume of the alarm? :o

Further investigation results in the following findings

20fes08.jpg

It seems like it is not being scripted properly thus masking some "features" out...

str_ddnsset (hidden) vs parent.str_xxxxx (visible)

Gribber,

I tested the camera collected from you this evening and everything was ok.

Here are the screenshots. Running on Chrome, IE, FireFox and Opera and there was no missing parameters.

I removed the p2p for some privacy.

The 49x series of camera has been designed to make it a no brainer when it comes to setup. Simply download the sineoji viewer plus app and enter your wifi ssid and password and you are ready to go. That's it. There are precisely 2 segments of audience, the techies and the non-techies, housewife, helpers etc. Consumers are often paranoid when it comes to setting up ipcam, especially port forwarding. But this is not a hassle any longer.

Practically, most home consumers would view their live video when they are at work. Many might experience the lag, or rather the pan and tilt function can hardly move, or struggling to get to the desired angle
with their traditional ipcam. Sineoji new 49x series ipcam incorporates an instant swift feature to eliminate that. Instant live, Pan and Tilt when you fire it up. Instant real-time viewing via your 4g mobile data when you are on the move.

Video image quality is decent and it has an added support for 128GB micro SD card that gives as much as 30 to 40 days of recording content. You can view your video content remotely by using the sineoji app and play them back on your android/iphone.

If you are a techy , you may login to your ddns to access the live video of the cam and access remotely your recorded content via the web browser. Simply drag and drop your recorded content onto your desktop and play it .

Digital zoom up to 5x with 4x motion detection. Night vision, Bi-directional audio are, motion alarm detection with recording.

Well product comes with 3 years warranty and a 7 days (including Sat & Sunday) onsite service at your doorsteps should you have any difficulty setting it up.

Having made the switch from Vstarcam, I would say my experience with Sineoji PT492 & PT593 has been good. Very responsive panning and MicroSD reviewing on 4G network. Not perfect but more improvements are expected. 👍

Dear barrios,

We performed an upgrade of a new firmware online remotely to your Sineoji IPcam PT492V and PT593V IP cam this evening.

Dear Dean,

Look at your attached screen capture. It is indeed missing the parameters.

We have a vstarcam before, decided to change as the camera keeps having problem even after an exchange. Few months later still have issue, the qoo10 shop does not allow me to change anymore, citing I need to return it to china for repair. Decided to dump the camera now since shipping is around $30, might as well go for a new one.

Judging from the reviews here. I have narrow down to 3 brands as follows

1. Foscam
2. D-Link
3. Zafego

What's the recommendation? Audio is very important to me, hubby have tested the links for the foscam and zafego and told me that audio is good for zafego. But I saw the review on night vision here, very different from what i saw live from the demo camera, is it true that the camera is very dark.

We need a very simple setup camera as none of us are very savvy in IT.

My recommendation: go get Sineoji. Their tech team will personally go down and fix whichever request you throw to it.

The other 3 requires alittle hands on without much assistance as compared to Sineoji.
