All Samsung fast charge charger have output of 9V, 1.67A or 5V, 2A

I checked with the charger that came with my Note 5 and Note8. Both have the same output.

As long as the cable can carry 9V, 1.67A of electricity, the charging speed should not differ much unless the battery itself kaput.

if you got the S7 series and above wireless charging pad, it's all fast charge.
Those wireless charging with no 45 degree angle, are normal wireless charging, no fast wireless

Yes. I'm using the S7 edge one. Still thinking if there is a need to buy another one (probably the new one convertible) for living room

hopefully not 5 years, probably minimum 2 years, next device should be Note 10. The 10th edition of Note series should be a big bang.

windows skipped 9 and went straight from 8 to 10.. iphone skipped 9 and went straight from 8 to 10..

As long as there is heat, battery will degrade over time, be it fast charging wired or wireless charging.

The fact that charging at 9v 1.67A it is hot. 15w worth of output power is definitely hotter than wireless which is outputing a total of 2A 5V, 10W of output power.

But wireless charging takes a longer time to charge your phone. Which as a result may heat up the phone for a longer period of time.

But either way, before the battery dies, the phone is due to change.

On Samsung phones there's the option to disable fast wired charging as as well as fast wireless charging. So personally I would disable fast option for most of the time whether wired or wireless charging, and turn on the fast option if I need an urgent charge.
