Thanks. Think will wear to break in and stretch the shoe a bit as well. Hopefully it gets comfortable before i lose my patience wearing it.
In that case cemented shoes in polished leather may be more your cup of tea. Consider them next time.

No break in period no awful blisters no tiresome maintenance regime. :D

Yes

Advice is always buy what you are able and what you like, ideally the latter if you are super elite, but if you can, just go for Carmina. They are very entry level as compared to crispins or greens, then the comparison would come again, xxx vs xxx.

What SquallLH said is very true.

It just goes on and on, if you can afford Carminas, why not save up for a month or two to get a vass? If you can afford a vass, why not save up for a john lobb? If you can get a john lobb, why not save up for crispins or berluti?

Well technically that would be the end, one berluti and i'm done.

I have a slightly different take on this. Sure, we can all buy all the grail shoes, but it is also interesting to buy some from the lower priced makers like Meermin; granted the QC and workmanship is not as good (sometimes even EG also fail).

Take for example, i have a Meermin suede and calf leather balmoral boot from a GMTO run. Would i love a EG Galway? Sure. But how often will i use it? However, with a Meermin balmoral boot, i get to have a pair of unique makeup which i wear occasionally and still get to enjoy at a reasonable price point.

My 2 cents.

Which is a good thing for the market since there will be supply and demand at all levels. I do have a couple of beater shoes from Herring shoes myself for bad weather days.

I like a range of shoes to play around with. Not every pair is something that I would wear overseas to thrash around with. Having pairs from different ranges also make you appreciate the quality of the shoes even more and know what you are getting for your money.

Today i bought a pair of llyr from suntec. Size 42 is tight at the sides. From toe to heel tight too. I try size 43, everything is comfortable, sides no more tight but there heel slip. So guys u think i should take 42 or 43? Or i just wear a thicker socks will do? Is it becuz the shoe and sole still new and tough that why when i wear it will tend to slip?

You mention bought. So buy aldry how to choose? :s13:

Use your hand and grab ur other palm snugly, thats how its supposed to feel.

I think 42 should be ok as calf will stretch. The heel slip indicates a problem.

Alternatively get ur feet measured with a brannock device to find out ur typical sizing.

Thanks for your valuable advice. Can help?

Anyway no matter how i wear it may not get comfortable as the size maybe too small so really no patience to wear 2-3 years to make it comfortable or rather to make my feet used to the tightness. I try my luck but not lucky. Will sell to my colleague and re order again but this time Carmina. Better check ard to get the correct size before ordering this time around

My goodness how long have you been wearing your shoes for and who the hell told you it will take 2-3yrs to break in? Visit a cobbler to stretch the damn shoe for goodness sake.

Haiz.. Disappointing experience at EEA yesterday.. Person didn't really want to serve me.. Limited black oxfords, and when I finally saw one that I like, no size 41-42..

Hi guys, just sharing my first pair of goodyear welted shoes.

Merlion II from Ed Et Al.

I read about the leather creasing easily, but I don't really mind creases and it was going at a good discount.
