Ah ok thanks, got a pair of Allen Edmonds made in italy loafers instead as it's on clearance sale.

Cannot be recrafted from their comment

Word of caution on polished leather is that once scuffed, more or less GG and it's hard to touch up whereas on calf leather, u can apply crème/wax (don't work on polish leather) to cover up. Also once cracked (more likely than calf IMHO, cause of the synthetic layer), is also GG.

But otherwise yes, easy maintenance if one does not like polishing, just wipe down with dry/damp cloth periodically.

To add on,durability of said shoes are still better than the mass market pedro and aldos out there...

Expect at least more than a year's worth of wear especially if well taken care of.

For polished leather I have found wax polish effective in covering up scuffs. It works the same way you were taught to cake on black kiwi on your army boots.

If you take that step you'll find the uppers will last you a long time.

I agree with these! Except that for me, corrected grain leather seems to fold rather than crease, and when that happens it's extremely prone to cracking, and when that happens it's gone.

Judging whether a shoe can be "recrafted" or not based on where it was made is pointless.

Sent from LGE LG-H815 using GAGT

We get your pt, u also missing the point we not stating that.
We understand port Washington does GYW, Italian shoes generally not GYW. Send back to them, they don't have tools cannot loh lol

Anyway looks like AE Italian using same process and port Washington is able to handle it.

It will be better to discuss the shoes based on construction rather than provenance then.

If I got made in Northampton shoes does it mean can recrafted? What if their cemented shoes made in Northampton?

Is it recommended to get the collonil shoe cream along with the robinsonshoe sale? Been using their creme for my shoes. Want to polish my pair on my own now. Contemplating between the cream or the loake wax (much cheaper).

Anyone with any experience with the loake branded wax?

Collonil and Saphir MDO are definitely good. Not sure about Loake wax since I never use before.

For Viccel sock users, I'm guessing winter weight is the way to go? Not big on sheer, see-through socks.

Yes they are comfortable. But i have since stopped buying their shoes as the uppers (leather) aren't good at all.

I have tried both. And i think i will stick to the summer weight. Winter weight is for 'winter' and not as comfortable here in Singapore (except in the office).
