I find than suede/nubuck footwears are easier to maintain. Just brush off dusts and grits, apply eraser if necessary, wire brush to bring out the nep, followed by spraying on suede protector.

Occassionally, I would shampoo my suede boots when it gets too dirty and to remove spots.

Thanks. Where can I buy the specialized brush, eraser and spray? Supermarket, daiso?

Try herring. Last check they have some loake chukkas. Else if you want to go budget.. try Imm clarks outlet or changi outlet.

How's the quality on clarks chukkas at its price point? I read that it's retailing at around 239 in SG. Will the outlets be much cheaper for the same shoe?

Yes they will be. Somehow they operate like how they operate in the UK. Outlet price will always be cheaper than retail shop front for the same model.

Hi, is black hammer a good choice for work shoes? :o

My current formal shoes suffered tears at the front part due to me frequently bending them when kneeling to pick up boxes from the floor so I'm looking for a replacement pair.

They are wearable. But I would strongly recommend to go try English maker shoes. They are a whole new level. I am sure after trying those, you will nv buy from standard brands(bata, hush puppies) in Singapore anymore.

EEA starts from 399 now. Was there couple months back. Leather is thicker than 2yrs back. But I don't see how it warrants that price. Maybe the location counts a part.
LLYR.. The lasts ain't for everyone. Depending on feet. Have a black austerity Oxford from em.. Break in was hell. Needed loads of wear. Leather is thin though from Annonay. But much lower tier leather used. Some imperfections. But it's a start for those starting out.
When you have graced Carmina, C&j, Loakes and such.. You won't consider llyr. Probably the contemporary penny loafers. Pretty well made.
EEA pricing I rather drop by Lusso and look at their Yanko collection man

At $399 then sadly there are definitely better value options out there and it would take more than patriotism, to be a persuasive proposition..

I prefer a grain leather for such a shoe I'd wear for wet weather. And for brogued shoe I prefer oxfords to derby. And I just got the carlos santos faux split toe derby which probably serves the same purpose.

Actually the real reason is no space la :)

True that.
How's Yanko break in?
Tries on a pair of captoe at Lusso. Shoe seems well made. I find that the leather ain't easy to break in.
Seems pretty worth it for 348 with complimentary shoes trees while it lasts.

Is it only 348 now with shoe trees? I remembered paying closer to 400 without shoe trees.

Break in was on the long side for me, 10 or so wears..

348?? I remember 399 was the launch promo price, no trees.. Then after that full price is 420, for a period giving free aqatelier trees..
