$1000 for 2 pairs, Yanko in Seamless Bestspoke. Many thanks for this very detailed advice, Thunder March. Grateful if you could recommend a few shops in Singapore where I can have a look (other than the shops which others have recommended above). Thank you.
Hi supernova, what is the brand and model of the shoes in the photo? If you are getting anything with a fiddleback waist (ie Antonio Meccariello) and planning to topy, suggest you topy at ed et al. Don’t think I’ve seen a better topy than them in singapore. Can check out the pics I posted previously for
Hi supernova, what is the brand and model of the shoes in the photo?
Brown museum suede adelaide is from corno blu.
Black captoe is from Antonio mexcariello’s aeris range.
Both from yeossal. And both GYW (per ThunderMarch’s post).
Not sure what size you are. I have a couple of double monks I’m letting go. As well as some other shoes in UK6-6.5![]()
Mine is size 6.5-7. Just Pmed you.
I am keen to get a AM pair as well but not sure how to choose the size. I went to Carmina earlier today - one model with 6.5 fit perfectly but the other 6.5 was really tight. I was surprised - both are oxford shoes from the same manufacturer!
My guess. Rain last fits well, Simpson last was tight.

Carmina was very popular for a while, until their prices started soaring. If Rain was the last that fits u well, u will be able to get advise on what sizes of the other makers suit u. Likewise Capital last from Loake is also frequently used as a reference last, and many will usually start with a pair of Loake for their first GYW.
Am surprised that the SA at Carmina didn't even bother to explain the implications of different lasts on sizing.. I mean this IS a Carmina store and not Robinsons/Taka..
eh All in a Day bro ... u never step into Carmina SG store before rite?
Yep never haha.. it's that bad huh
Attempting to mirror shine the toe caps on my black oxfords but there are bits/patches of old wax layers (i think) that wouldn't clean off using damp cloth nor saphir renovatuer. These patches are preventing the leather from being smooth and thus me being able to achieve the mirror shine.
Will using rubbing alcohol to try remove the wax permanently compromise the leather? Shoes are a pair of meermins
Consider visiting Orbans or Loding or even Ed Et Al in SG if you're not in a rush.Anyone has any monk shoes to recommend at a budget range of $350? Been looking at the yankos double monk at skolyx but would like to look at other brands as well.

Eh sorry ah poor phrasing. First two online only. There's Orbans in SG? where?
You can try in small amounts. Once the wax is dissolved/removed, then switch back to reno.. I reckon it's only the toe cap area which you will anyways be slapping back layers of wax for the mirror shine
To remove old, uneven layers of wax, it's better to use Renomat.
