Back in the days where C&J still supplied them, they were about the cheapest source to buy C&J shoes n lots of SF folks from US ordered from them. So i don't think you should be too concerned over the reliabilty of the delivery services.

What a waste. Intending to get a C&J cottesmore. Guess still need to wait until my uk trip to try them on

Unless u have narrow or very wide feet, the capital last (which many of the 1880 shoes are based on) would work for normal to moderately wide feet. If u r a uk8.5, u can pm me to arrange to try, at my convenience of cos :D

Thanks for the offer! I'm size UK10.

Anyway I hope to get some advice on this - I recently tried on a Carmina Oxford in forest last at Carmina sg (to get my size for GMTO with skoak, guilty*) it's fits rather well, but Skoak suggest to size down to 9.5UK for a Derby GMTO (rain last) on the basis that the gap between my lace is too close, what do you guys think?

Cheers!

For FWIW, our feet will sink further into the shoe after the shoe is broken in.
Skoak is probably right.

Do you want to show us your photo?

How does the length feel? Won't advise sizing down if length feels just nice. Go bck carmina sg to try a pair of derby if still unsure lol

The shoes are hugging my heel and joint nicely that I didn't think anything about the length. damn I would feel bad to do that haha!

Nedenow's situation raises a point of intrigue for me which I hope to seek clarification:

Assuming I'm only stating with reference to calf leather and with respect to the same last, should one generally size down when purchasing a blucher as opposed to a balmoral? How about for loafers/monks?

Thanks!

Normally the sizes should apply across models. Different lasts may be tricky.
The photo suggest that they are the of the right size. Can't see very clearly though.

Sizing affects the length of the shoe. Blucher vs oxford only affects the height of the instep so no?

Okay perhaps I ought to have made it clearer as I inadvertently left out an additional piece of information: What if I sized-up by half for the oxford in order to accommodate the lower instep of the last. Should I then take TTS instead of sizing-up for bluchers/loafers/monks on the same last?
