You measured the dimensions said 40 ah?

I use the same trees on simpsons last and seems ok. Loakes slimmer? 😱

I did not measure before buying. I usually wear Euro Size 40 so that's why i bought 40.

Loake Abberline is made on the Jack Last.

Yesterday i also went Mister Minit to ask if they can put on rubber sole and heel

The guy looked at my shoes and said "Wah this rubber sole is even tougher than the one my shop is selling. There is no need to put."

In the end i just put the front part.

Why would you want to put rubber over the parts that already have rubber?

More rubber = more good? =s

Sent from the exploded Death Star using GAGT

I always prefer to "protect" the original parts of the shoe. So if i put on additional rubber, then at least the wearing off is for the extra rubber and the original rubber is still intact. That's my preference.

But i did not put on extra rubber on the heel part as the guy said it is already very thick

I bought a couple of those tongue pads from eBay and I can spare you one. Drop me a pm.

Thanks for the offer but I don't have an immediate need for one, just curious where to obtain one if I need it in the future. That said, thanks again! :)

Funny leh u. Is like u want to wrap an 'eraser layer' around an eraser so that your original eraser would never get used. :s13:

aiyah original rubber got "LOAKE" word there so must preserve

Leather over leather no point cos heel portion will wear out fast, leather won't.

cos i asked the guy if i dont paste rubber over the sole, then wat if original sole wear off? then he said repair cost more than $100.

You have a very strange pov for this. Yes, your heels will wear out faster but that's just physics isn't it? That's the point of replacing the worn out heels and be able to continue to wear the shoes. If replacement costs are your concern more than wearing out the LOAKE wording, there are cheaper options out there.

If you want to preserve the wording so that you can see it and get high from doing that, I suggest that you take out the existing heels and replace them now, keep the original heels in your wallet and you can take it out and look at them whenever you like.

Adding an extra layer of rubber changes the height and balance of the shoes and might make you look strange when walking, unless you are already used to wearing 9" heels.

The most important thing that you should protect whilst wearing shoes, is your feet.

Shoes are meant to be worn. No matter how nice they were made.

Robinson Shoes (the online one) 15% discount for shoes over UKP170 for 4 days. Coupon AUTUMN 2015.

Those itchy to buy shoes, fast hand fast leg. Free shipping for UKP150 or more (before coupon discount) still valid.

Eg Loake 1880 Buckingham, after 15% discount and free shipping to SG, will cost about S$330.

Sad, my 3 year old Ed's sole is giving way. Shall do a recraft.

By the way, is it normal that neutral wax seem to remove the creme layer? I use only renovatuer and creme, and recently started on wax to get some shine. But it seems to remove my colored layer.
