Just bought my first pair of Carminas from quality shop. Let's hope the fit is good.

Did u try in the shop or just leap of faith? The burgundy oxfords are tempting me..

At 254.55 euro that's below 400 sgd, very good price no?!

I did try it out at the shop. They only had a pair of oxfords in rain for UK 9 so I just tried it and it felt pretty snug so hopefully with a few wears, my feet will mould into the footbed. I got the monks so I'm using the last hole on the monk strap.

I'm not sure how would a Simpson 9.5 fit me as the heel is slimmer.

I was actually charged $405 due to the conversion rate. Delivery was DHL from Europe to SG and then Singpost for the final leg. Price is definitely one of the best in a long time?

Wow price is good! Just about $100+- more expensive than an on sale Loake 1880 on Robinsons Shoes.

DHL Global Mail sucks. It's Singpost in DHL clothing. I had an article arrive in SG on 13th June and still stuck in delivery limbo. It's in no way anything like the DHL Express that people are accustomed to.

not to mention any cock up you'll be speaking to the idiot Singpost indian call center. freaking nightmare.

kena before the indian call centre 1 week still no action when an item got routed wrongly. I gave up and ran around SGP to intercept the shipment myself just before it was sent back to HQ to be returned. Singpost staff told me if I came 1 hour later, the HQ postman would have arrived to pick it up.

2 weeks later the Indian call centre called me and said they now intend to declare my item as lost :s22:

GPGT. Pardon the lousy pic. Creasing is a bit excessive on the first wear but it's inevitable. Hopefully it'll break in soon.

Single monk in burgundy... nice.

Does the Rain last run bigger than the Simpson last in the same size?

Do you get to keep the fitting shoes btw?

No idea man..but since its MTO instead of bespoke so i dont think so..more to just make sure the shoe fits nicely i guess which is a great gesture by him to ensure d final shoes fits well although he does take n trace my feet precise measurements on paper.. he can also use s fitting shoes for future customers which is good also..Will update when i go meet him month end. Anw for my prev bespoke shoes, i do get to keep the semi-shoe..d test shoes r made frm d neck part of the leather hide IIRC n insole is like a foam like material.

Personally have not tried the same size in Simpson. Length wise Simpson might be the same but width wise, Simpson is a lot narrower.

Wow thanks for the picture. It looks so much better than at the quality shop website.

So did you get taxed?

Sorry to hear that. Nothing can compare to DHL global express. Even FedEx can't match up based on my past experiences.

I'm hoping I don't get a bill from Singpost later as I'm not sure whether Singpost has such an arrangement. My understanding is if there's any goods that require you to pay tax, they actually hold the items till you make payment.

How's the fit? Vs other brands/lasts you have experience with?

It definitely is less comfortable than my Barkers as those are in G fit so I'm only hoping it'll break in to wear slightly more comfortable. I got these partly due to the relatively good price, albeit an expensive pair nonetheless.

I have pretty wide feet so have not actually tried on other brands with G fit besides Barker/Loake/Herring since I consider these 3 brands to have very similar lasts.
