I'm EU 45 on Llyr, UK 10 on Converse sneakers, that's all the reference I have.. Don't know whether to go UK 10 or 10.5 on Carmina's oxfords in Simpson last.. :(

Actually my US sneakers are around 10.5-11.5. Definitely can't use sneakers as a reference since they're less stiff in nature. You may want to try on a Rain last in the largest that you can find and gauge from there. Unless someone has a pair in that size who will allow you to fit the shoe.

My advice is not to use the sizes for the local shoes as a reference. EEA and Llyr have very unusual lasts which don't match any of the established shoe brands. You won't get much help as the local community is far too small.

Go for shoes which you can get references for from SF. It'll make your guesswork a lot more easier.

Unfortunately, your size is hard to come by so the best chance you have is to go overseas and try out shoes when you can.

Hi, anyone experience with AE sizing? I wear a size 45 and usually is equal to US12, but in AE website it says is equivalent to US11. Which is the right one? They have many widths too, not too sure to get EE or EEE. I have a wider foot.

Am looking at either Strand or McAllister. It states that they are from the same last, but I see the review saying McAllister have a narrower fit. This is confusing

Realised I'm a puny UK 9 on Loake's capital, swing and 026 lasts.. Snug but feels like will be perfect after wearing in. Would Carmina's simpson last in UK 10 be too big for me?

Was wearing thin socks

I think size up 0.5 should be adequate, assuming uk9 is optimal on the lasts u mentioned. 1 full size up likely to be too much to compensate for width

I'm US8.5D or US8E for last 65 which is the last for strand and Mcallister. I'm wearing EU41 or 41.5 depending on last for Vass. As such, you could try out 12D or 11.5E. D is standard width for US shoes. E is wide while EE is double wide and EEE is triple wide.

Finally visited the Vass store in Budapest! Picked up my shoes, and confirmed my size for all other lasts - the service is just awesome.

Anyway, not sure if it's been posted here - they confirm that Kevin Seah starts stocking Vass in a couple of weeks. Yay! And Reszo mentioned that they will be directing requests from new customers back to Kevin.

Why yay when it is KS that is stocking them ... His prices usually quite high in the past.

Wow! What did you get your hands on? Share le

Definitely not a yay when Ks should eventually decide to price them like how ascot shoes charges the US customers and eBay. Pricing aside, ascot shoes does really have great customer service, and have some nice MTO make-ups that are really exclusive to them. (Eg Budapest wingtips)

That said, existing customers will still retain the purchasing r/s with Vass direct, while new customers will be directed to KS, which I thought is fair anyway. e-sizing is a biatch and we got our hits and misses sometime. Based on my emails with him, I was informed there's a price increase of 40 euros for all shoes starting 1st September.

Wow.. that means I'm only going to buy Vass if I ever go to Budapest. Too bad.

Not keen on buying from KS and I don't have a direct purchase from Vass before.

Off to other shoes then!

Or just ask an existing customer order for you? Kek

The appeal of Vass to me is his JR soles and that they are extremely open to make minor pattern changes foc, which would cost like 500-600 more for other makers.

They'll be more available in Singapore, more customers for Vass, and atleast gives old direct customers an option to try out different shoes. Not aware of high the prices will be - I was assuming around Carmina.

Bought two pairs:
Burgundy Cordovan - Double Monk.
Grey Museum Calf - Old English Oxford. (model 1052)

https://goo.gl/photos/9HMusFVZxJ5KtueA7

Both in the F last, 42.

For both, add in shoe trees, belts, shoe creams - total price was SGD 1500.

**
Sizing notes if it helps:

K last too narrow for me, U will need a slight width modification (width of 42.5), and all others fit at 42.

they're just sold separately here since the shoes are a little cheaper too in forints.

Certainly learn something new everyday. Always thought Vass shoes always came with trees included. Must have been quite the price drop locally then haha?

But lasted trees totally worth it, the only time idm splurging on trees
