What do you guys think about EEA's full brogue outram in antique brown? Or Havelock II in burgundy? Eyeing these two huehue

Can anyone please enlighten me on the advantages of using cream polish in a colour that best matches your shoes as opposed to simply using neutral cream polish?

Also, am I right to presume that for shoes having custom made patina, using neutral cream polish is probably the only way to go?

Noob question here.. Really like LLYR shoes but the sole is so slippery

How do you guys cope with that? go to a cobbler and get them to apply the rubber sole on?

After a few wears the leather sole will be roughened already. By then there should be sufficient friction

Season soles on road and gravel surfaces, you'll be okay in no time.

Yes, using the same colour is best. Neutral cream will 'lighten' your shoe colour. Plus i like to have lots of creams.

custom patina use neutral or whatever your patina artist advises you.

Dark Brown > Burgundy > Tan.
In that order, if you are wearing office wear.

For casual clothes, it depends on the brogues and soles etc.

One thing about burgundy though..it's such a BIATCH to find a matching belt

Not only is the colour seemingly rare, you still have to deal with the tonal differences of the Burgundy tone should it lean towards the reddish or more purplish hue.

Where is the LLYR's MTO retail located? I would presume the MTO would also be from their Viet factory, unless they have since acquired shoemaking abilities themselves to manufacture MTO locally.

I'll add on that neutral tends to have whitish flakes at the shoe creases when you start walking in the pair after your polish

Yeah, shoedick cheese is an unfortunate byproduct of using neutral. I like to mix a little bit of neutral wax in with my final coat of wax, but I usually steer clear from neutral cream.

Ok. I have small, but wide feet, so this might not apply to everyone :

Forest - 5.5/6
Rain - 5.5
Simpson - 6
Uetam - 5

No experience with the other lasts yet. Inca should be happening soon.

Forest last - IMO, Carmina's most forgiving last. Round toe with a high-ish toebox. I should have gone TTS with this, but I sized up half(took a 6 because 5.5 was not available) for my first pair and the shoes are still quite wearable.

Rain last - My least favourite last. Wide toebox, high instep, wide heel. I took a size 6 on my first try; should have gone with 5.5


Simpson last - Narrow, chiseled toe, very sleek; slightly longer than Forest. I took a gamble and sized up a full size for this(my first pair was 6.5), but for subsequent pairs I just sized up half from my true size. I'll try a TTS Simpson if I ever get a chance.

Uetam last - I think this last was based on Simpson. Pretty narrow toebox and heel, and the instep feels a hair larger than Simpson.

according to AE size chart, US11E fits me fine, now thinking of trying Meermin Oxford, knowing that the different shoe houses usually uses varying conversion, any bros can advice if UK10 will be a good fit? TIA

I have pretty normal instep, narrow heels, wide toes. Bad combination.
