For meermin, is it true to size? Their shoes really look great.
But abit cautious in buying leather shoes online, as leather expands.
If I wear UK 6 for like Doc Martens, should I get the same size for Meermin?

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Go Robinsons and try out the UK brand Loake. That will be a better way to use for comparison rather than Doc Martens. You can email Meermin with your Loake size and measurments of your foot (trace outline of your foot and measure length and width)

I know we are all like gyw shoes but just to ask if any italian shoes lover here coz sometimes u just want to have sleeker shoes. Understand they are usually not gyw but blake and I have read numerous article on the pro and cons.
My question is that does blake have any different version such that it is able to minimisenon the cons whicn i think is the mositure seeping into the shoes via the sole. Thanks

that is why i am learning lan... too many anti-DW here i know

I, or other people are not Anti DW. People just need to know/understand what they are buying something for.

Every shoe brand, even the cemented mass market ones have their own market segment. And kudos to them in fulfilling their particular niche and needs of their consumers.

DW targets and well fulfills the needs of their own market segment, the "Koreanesque" fast fashion customizable footwear. If one buys a pair of DW's because of their fantastic colours, amazing bling, mesmerizing patina and the want to indulge in the in-vogue Korean Kpop aesthetic, then power to them, well done for I can think of no Brand better.

However if one buys a DW because one wants or perceives that it is a quality pair of shoes due to marketing, then that is just silly. Worse is if they go about bragging about the superiority of their DW's "handwelting" over GYW. :s22:

I just hope to change that.

TLDR: People buy Breadtalk's soya bean because its "fresh". Told them that it is repackaged Yeos. People still continue to buy Breadtalk's soya bean because they still think its "fresh".

Other than the waxed thread, there's nothing else. But well, nothing beats the flexibility and lightness of blake, bologna construction. Cest la vie :s13:

Curious, even Spanish iterations of the welt on GYW is too substantial for you? The Americans, English & Europeans (god damm Goyser!) definitely like to cut their welt thick and fat but the Spaniards (carmina/magnanni) seem to be able to trim it down to its bare minimum.

help pls.. for ed et al, I wear a 38. Just received my Meermin EUR 38+, oxford toe cap and its too small, had to squeeze to get my foot in.

any ideas what should I do?
1) Just sell it and reorder? If so, what size should I reorder?
2) Send it back and get a bigger size. Any courier to recommend? Briefly check names like UPS, shipping fee is S$150+. Totally not economical to send it back.

Singpost should be able to do it for less than 70.

Wow. EEAs are built on a narrower last, it's surprising that Meermins are tighter instead of roomier.

EEA Rochor 39 vs Carmina Simpsons 39. I have no idea what last is your Meermin on but Simpsons equivalent should be New Rey from my experience. Unfo I've got no more Meermins on hand atm.

Never realised eea n simpson last were shaped so alike, though i suspect side profile would show a much more pronounced chisel look on the simpson

Hi Polish Guru, may i know whats the diff between neutral wax vs coloured wax assuming i already cream the shoe with the colour matching polish?
Can i still acheive the mirror shine at cap toe using neutal wax or die die must use colour wax. Assuming using saphir product. Thks

Polishing with Saphir neutral wax. Not mirror shine standard yet.
