I have been observing. You love to articulate your sartorial knowledge on almost all topics or post raised in this forum. I expected you to be a super well groomed gentlemen from top to toe since you have opinions on almost everything (from Jacketing to shirting to pants to shoes etc etc etc).
Hope to meet you some day and please dont disappoint me![]()
Yes you are right. Not all people treat their shoes with strict shoe care regime like some guru. I am still learning![]()
Nope. I am just a friggen PCW. Talk is cheap mah hahaha and it helps me take my mind off work. For example EDMW standard salary is $6k starting salary.. But I doubt many actually make that much.
The reason why I enjoy tailoring and shoes are more practical than anything. For example, I have extremely thick thighs and calves and simply cannot fit into RTW, especially in the fashionable slim cuts that are all the rage now. My frustrations lead me to pick up tailoring.
Likewise with shoes, I enjoy walking around ALOT. Inevitably my cemented shoes would give up on me after nearly 1 year, which is impossibly frustrating. Couple that with the fact that I have larger than average feet @ UK9.5 makes buying OTR shoes a frustrating endeavour. Thus, the shift to purchasing GYW shoes, particularly online.
There are many other seniors here who have far deeper pockets, and much better sartorial sense (those two are not mutually inclusive). I am only still learning and getting an idea of what I like and what works for me.
Haha as they say, empty vessels make the most noise.
Also, a basic shoe care regime is very simple lah. Strict yes, but it's not that difficult to brush before and after every wear, utilise a shoe tree and cream once a week, once you get into the habit of it. That's really all you need to keep your shoes from looking like you've been in a war.
