Was browsing through Skoak and saw this pair of navy suede brogues.

Have no experience with Carmina's Forest last's fitting.

Would very much appreciate feedbacks from fellow fetishists on how the last compares to Loakes' Pennine last (UK10.5) and Alden's Trubalance last (US11.5)? Should I keep true to size on the Carmina's Forest last (UK10.5) or do I need to size up/down?

Not too sure about the other lasts but Forest should be true to brannock if you did your measurement.

Its their bootish last and is meant to fit very comfortably instead of the narrow sculpted dimensions of simpsons/rain/inca etc

And its suede, alot more give

Much appreciated LHB, your input clear things up regarding the sizing.:)
Only thing now is to wait if they're going to restock my size.

So for his abridged method of using a cream only, there's no need for a brush? Sounds like an opportunity to save money lol

I mostly cream now actually.

Im trying to Mac method most of my shoes now, even calf lol.

The mac method only works because shell cordovan has a lot of oils and waxes stuffed in it. Doing it on calf leather will eventually dry it out.

IMO Mac method only works because he does it on Alden shoes which have a layer of acrylic finish on the shell. Trying to duplicate his method on other makers who don't finish it the same way is (imo again) sub-optimal.

I used to do shoe cream mainly for my calf shoes which produces a nice glow at least for Saphir. However, I prefer using additional wax polish for the toes and heels nowadays mainly for protection against scuffs and people stepping on your shoes.

Normal price less VAT is 180 pounds. U saved almost 30 pounds and still entitled to free shipping. Soft calf GYW shoes for slightly more than S$300, MTL!

Get collonil shoe cream from Robinson Shoes at the same time, also 15% off with the coupon.

Tried loake gladstone UK9 at robinsons..quite snug...should i order UK9.5 instead? Pls advise.

I am also contemplating between aldwych dark brown and loake strand burgundy...is strand more versatile?

Resoling goodyear welted shoes

Hi guys,

I have a pair of mid-range goodyear welted shoes that need resoling. Anybody have a good cobbler to recommend?

Thanks!
