Renomat is very powerful. You have to use it sparingly. Which is the patch that showed up after you used Renomat?

Which is the area that that holds the dark colour cream?

Did you just do this? Was it done consecutively?

Near the edges broque border of the toe caps towards the uppers. You can also see left toe cap dark circle. Actually most of the base dye has come off.

Looks like same as my Edetal.

Instead of using cloth to polish, i use my hand to apply wax(very thick layer) and use brush to brush until it melt into the pores. Then I leave it overnight to let me dry.

After that I just polish like normal.

The reason why I never use cloth to polish wax is wax, cause I felt that I am removing the polish rather than building it up

I used cloth to polish off. Then the toe caps turned white I think from oxidation. I thought it was wax and rubbed a bit more. Then realised it was the base dye.

Without knowing how you came to the end result, it's a little hard for me to give advice.

Did the dark circle appear and darkening at the broguing appear immediately after you applied renomat or after you used the cream?

Which parts are supposedly not holding colour?

FYI from your previous pics of your cap shine, your right shoe (on the left side in the pic) is originally darker than your left shoe(on the right side of the pic)

Actually you are right, left side was a little darker. Now left top cap is not absorbing and holding colour more than the right. Initially, I thought it was because of thick coat of wax, so I rub more renomat to clear it. Then I realised that I actually removing the dye....

Cream and wax polishes don’t carry much colour and aren’t meant to colour the leather. If you removed the dye and you want back the colour the dye provided, only option is to re-dye. Unlikely that trying to load on or push in any cream or wax color is going to work.

I used Renomat to remove some dark brown saphir cream when I failed with a antiquing on my Corno Blu Lycra that was nicely done up with a mirror shine. Ended up with a patch of darken colour patch on the toe cap and it seems some of the original dye removed. Probably rubbed a bit too much. Was under the impression that good leather dye will not be removed.

Now won't hold any Saphir cream or wax any more no matter hold many coats I apply. Tried to use Saphir dark brown cream to cover whole toe caps but only part of the toe caps can hold the dark cream colour. I ordered some Saphir TEINTURE FRANCAISE brown colour dye to DIY fix but not sure now to proceed or seek professional help.

What's your advise?

I have the same pair of corno blu and my understanding is that mottled effect is from hand dye/patina and not the base layer, this might extend to the toe caps as well so the mottling/dye can be more easily removed with renomat. So far i have only used renovateur to clean off polish from my corno blu and i was even advised to use an even gentler conditioner than saphir's renovateur (because of it's solvent base i think).

My experience with saphir cream polish is that you can apply an even coat and leave overnight, when layered a few times the leather will take in the dye and darken. you can try this but be sure to apply even coats.

For the toe caps since the dye now is uneven, i would suggest you even it out before either layering with saphir's cream or before applying the dye.

For the vamp near the brogue, i suggest you use renovatuer to try removing the dark brown cream polish and then use a lighter shade of cream polish subsequently

Yes, that's what I thought. That's why I bought the Saphir dye. But now thinking should I leave it to the pros.

Sometimes, you have to give the job to the professionals.
Any recommendations? EEA and Smith&Mason comes to mind. Any others?

I am now checking with EEA to see if burnishing the toe caps will work.

Definitely have to remove the base cream and polish before I try anything further. Don't think I will go down the shoe cream path. Tried and failed miserably, wasted 2 hrs.

I don't think the world champ is in SG though. Last I heard he was learning how to make shoes in Japan.

Anyone interested to take over a brand new pair of Meermin oxfords? Bought 2 pairs to trial and error the sizing and letting go of one. I'll absorb the cost that I paid for shipping.

Still available? Thanks.

Yes, will definitely post once the burnishing is done.

More pics of the Conicen in sunlight. Museum effect is really subtle. Was afraid it may be a bit too fancy for office environment but it's really a suitable office work shoe, casual or even formal wear.

Loving it!

Totally new to the the shoe game. Having trouble deciding on the sizing, if I am looking at a Meermin Oxford, should I size up or down? Currently a US 9.5.

I’m wearing Enzo bonafe last 804 which is fine on forefoot but alittle wide on instep.

Whereas on carmina forest the instep is alittle too small

Anyone got recommendations for last?
