How's Vibram vs Continental TOPYS?
Hard to compare. Even between vibram, continental and topy there are different ranges for different needs. Pick the one that is useful for you.

I would just go for the cheaper one assuming if there are just 2 choices.

Both are 'branded' soles used in topy and quite frankly, these are for dress shoes and not for sports purpose and the sole marking/design shouldn't make much, if any, difference.

Just a minor detail but topy is as brand just as much as vibram.

last year I went to bangkok terminal 21 and found a shop selling leather shoes for ladies. The designs are trendy and very comfortable. Ever since then, i will go to there to buy my shoe . =D
The cost is about 120SGD but is really very comfy

Level 4 or 5 i think

Where’s the best place to get your GYW shoes resoled? Ed Et Al have stopped doing work for other brands as of June.

When I reached out to Seamless Bespoke, they recommended Steve Autokey and Shoe Repair - anyone have any experience with them?

Thanks for sharing this news. So far, i have not had the need for resole yet, but i am curious nonetheless.

Not a good sign but perfect excuses to buy a few more to rotate so never have to resole :D

Got my Sydney from Bodileys. Out of the box, not polished yet.

Was quite surprised I didn't have to pay GST, the DHL guy was confused when I asked about it, for whatever reason.

Looks like I might have to check out Steve's then. Bit disappointed that Edetal don't do resoles – surely there's a bunch of us who (will eventually) need them?

There's also one good one in Capitol Theatre - Carmina. :zonia:

Yeah, the ones needing a resole are Yankos though

Maybe the GST was included in the cost you paid - quite common these days

Doesn't seem so, total price was literally list price -20% (their VAT) + GBP25 for shipping. GST would've been like GBP30 at least.

Then again, I'm not complaining. =:p

Do they accept shoes bought outside their store? I've bought carmina online before, it'd be nice if I can resole them locally in the future.

Haha that might be the case. But I bought them under the assumption that I'd pay for the GST in the first place, so no biggie. =:p

Thanks. Yeah I really like the shape of the last, probably my favourite penny loafers thus far, or at least until I get to the John Lobb or Edward Green level.

Not sure about Lobb and Green, I felt the Italian and Jap makers are better suited for my small Asian feet
