had owned 1 pair of pedro before..my experience after wearing for a while noticed the top-layer coloured leather at the front started flaking off...not sure what type of leather this..

so far all my pairs dont have tis
zzz i cant find any other shoes (other than pedro) that has designs that fancy me

I have never own any pedro shoes. But as HST commented, the pedro shoes i have seen at the shopping malls are not aniline leather and their price reflects this. Most brands uses corrected grain leather for their entry level shoes even brands such as allen edmonds, loakes, J&M, Barker...etc.

Go for church, Vass, crockett & jones, edward green etc. These brands do not use such leather for all their shoe range.

For shoe brands that are available in SIngapore, go for Loakes 1880 collection and J&M aristocrat models. Confirm aniline leather.

+1000. Entry-level Loakes, A&E, Barker etc are far better than Pedro. I used to own 2 pairs of J&M. Served me well for 10 years - still going strong, but I decided to upgrade to some of the brands mentioned here.

I favour J&M too. Have 4 pairs of their shoes now. Only the larken model was a disappointment as its one of their entry models (and it was the first J&M shoe i bought.)

My crockett and Jones shoe is already 6 years old and still going strong. Shoes worth to invest as its unlikely that your foot size will change in the next 10 years or so, unlike clothes.

I downgrade to cheap shoes and have never felt better. Can kick the shoes out with my leg after a hard day's work. Don't need to use a shoehorn when rushing in the morning.

Totally don't have to worry about people stepping on your shoes or polishing them. No need to bother to re-sole, just throw and buy again.

Hi, my pair of Regal Monks started to squeak after I got caught in the rain slightly last week. After airing over the weekend, it is still squeaking, even though i have applied shoe cream after airing. Does this mean I need to air them more?

let the cork fillers dry out. If it is persistent after 4 days of drying, it may mean that the shank has shifted or broken and/or the feather has detached. It has nothing to do with applying cream or not, which just restore the upper.

Sometimes, just continuing to wear them will make it go away once it is "broken in" the 2nd time. Other times, it may need to be recrafted by a competent cobbler.

i think esp in office aircon environment, the leather smell (mixed with foot perspiration smell) kinda get overwhelming
