So after reading this thread, I finally invested in a pair of black Loake 1880 Aldwych! It's amazing how comfortable it feels for the first time, compared to my crappy pair of Aldo shoes. Looking to get shoe trees for this gem now.

not sure if the gentlemen here drink, my ideal venue would be in a whisky bar. sit on sofa slowly shine. if not preferably indoor with seating in aircon.

How do you consider the thickness to be 1 layer?

Usually I just apply once in circular motion, wait for dry then dab cloth in water and start polishing.

Also can if they shoe is old and have existing layer of polish. If new shoe or totally never polish before need more layers to build up a nice shine.

I must be doing it wrongly though. Sometimes it shines, sometimes it doesn't.

I can book function room for the gathering but my place is not near MRT (a few bus stop away from Yio Chu Kang MRT) so might not appeal to much people.

Who is keeping track of the participants?

I have invited the legendary Boy Boy to grace the event and share his expertise on buying shoes.

He will be available mid dec. I propose friday 13 after 8pm or sat 14 5pm onwards.

I will demostrate the emergency shine to touch up your shoes in the event some inconsiderate douche steps onto your toes.
