durability not sure. many ppl say not good. mine more than one year liao. still going on strong.. haha.. always fold the back of the shoes so can wear like slippers... still ok leh..

agree, the soles of my hush puppies are still pretty new after wearing for 9-10mths. surprising since my last pair (from vivocity, brand name starts with B or E) lasted 6mths and the soles already has that "angled" cut at the back with a small hole appearing on the front part.

To each their own~ i have 2 pairs of bally work shoes.
Tho personally, my fave work shoe is by Versace. =P

but as compare to my less pricy Laoke or my
Magnanni , Bally shoes builted arn't that great...

Used a pair of Rockport for 3 yrs ++ : super comfortable but the sole becomes super slippery after 2yrs.
Now using a pair of Geox for 2 yrs at least - quite comfortable and still going strong.

the above are kind of expensive....
Try Loake.... they are of more afforable pricing.....

if you're concerned about giving good impressions, leather or wooden soled shoes give a better impression. They may be more slippery, but the sound of the shoes when you walk is quite recognisable.

Depends on the shoe For those benchmade shoes, I'd definitely pamper them with unfinished cedar shoe trees w brass knob.
For Pedro shoes, I'd just use a plastic shoetree from Pedro

Shoe polishing is something i do with pride now, after some drilling in the navy

I always buy HP! comfortable especially I need to wear them for 12-16 hours everyday at least...
The one pair I bought for last year's CNY is still going strong even though I wear them every Monday to Friday

they do come with Shoe Tree....

My first pair of working shoe was hush puppies. served me well but I force it into early retirement after 9months as I bought a new Beetlebug during 2009 june GSS. Hush puppies was soft n comfy but shape is not that great while Beetlebug is soft,shiny & comfy but it became very slippery after 7-8months. I am thinking of getting a Geox during the coming june GSS.
