http://plal.com/main/index.php?page=crockett-and-jones-benchgrade-monk-shoes

bought a pair of english goodyear welted shoes from plal, their entire basement store stacked full of shoes and manned only by one old indian man driving a sports convertible. they have a large variety of c&js, loakes and cheaneys comfortable ambienece and no pressure to buy

goodyear welted is a lot mroe practical for the singapore weather compared with the blake stitched italian loafers from gravati that I used to wear

It should get better after you wear it for some time. The soles need to be worn in to have a better grip. If you like, you can add a rubber sole to it.

poor grip is common with leather soles....unless you're changing it to rubber soles

dress shoes were never made to be worn in the rain

It's impossible to avoid the rain in Singapore. High-quality goodyear-welted shoes should be relatively waterproof. Try to have at least two (I have three) pairs in rotation to allow it to sufficiently dry. Galosh, which is a type of rubber slip-on for leather shoes, should be very useful in Singapore, though, I haven't seen anyone using it or if it could even be purchased here.

I have 5 pairs of leather working shoe. I am complaining about the slippery not rotation.

I wasn't replying to you.

If you had worn leather-soled shoes before, then you should well-know what you got yourself into.

Hi guys,

I am looking for a second pair of leather shoe to rotate with my current pair of Hush Puppies which had served me really well.

Currently I am looking at this brand - Rad Russell, based on their design and built (for the price), and I find it quite reasonable.

Anyone got any review on Rad Russell?

I am even contemplating on a pair of Loakes 1880 or Herring by Loakes, but would love to hear about the Rad Russell before I took the plunge.

Thanks in advance.
