The monk is the better choice, definitely. Prolly the only shoes that I was eying throughout among the rest.

What size is it?

39... actually I think that entire shelf are all 39s. At least from all the pairs that I've looked at. The windswept monks were also available in 39 but the colour is a little darker than this pair I bought. Though a little polish would get it looking good anyway.

Size 39 in ed et al is around TTS US6.5 is it?

Haha. I saw you hogging the mirror at 1 corner ... was wondering when you're going to pass on this pair.

Anyway, the primaute was $480 during sales last time, now they round up the price.

Nope, don't have much choices for me. There's only 1 decent pair of captoe oxford, but EE width, looks like Ronald Macdonald's shoes painted in black. :(

Your MC wasted leh..hehe Never really understood their primaute RTW pricing of $600 when they charge from $500 for MTO. Really worth the premium for Annonay (to be verified) leather and channeled soles?

Its either a US 6.5 or US 7. My understanding of TTS might not be correct haha....

What I meant was that most shoes I've tried fall in the range of 39 or 40s which was consisent across different leather shoe brands and applies to Ed's shoes as well.

Primaute single monk. $500.

Nice monks. I saw another double monk in blue from arctuate's picture yesterday. That one has a sick patina. wonder who ended up with it.

It was still there when I left.... is it gone already?

Duno. I never go down hahaha.. i thought that one looked nicer from the photo (mainly due to the patina) but the primaute single monk more classy and less common I guess

The windswept monks(the one that you mentioned) is quite unique as well for the angle of the straps. gives a cleaner look than the usual double monks.

But wearing it on and buckling up 2 straps on each side was too much for me.... haha.

All the primaute were in size 39, too tight for my right feet so I passed on them. If not I would have hoot the burgundy blind brogues.

Went to edetal website and realized i have gotten the Mountbatten boot (think should be Mountbatten)

Leather cleaned with conditioning. Not the best of condition but heck it is going for $100 for a goodyear boot!

With the savings fr sale, if i were u, i would enquire their cost for doing patina and get it done in the colour(s) i really like. Boots got alot of surface to experiment with fades n diff tones!

You means what, actually i have that intention! While i am cleaning the boot earlier on, i stumbled upon this idea and wonder how can it be done? Anyone?

I do ask them if i can resole from leather to rubber sole, they say will cost $150.

No point re-sole to rubber if u ask me, vibram/topy (should cost less than $30) and the boots can still retain a sleek looking sole that can go with more formal dressing.

For patina, edetal themselves should be able do it (not sure on price though). I've also read on shoe snob blog about a recommended patina service (and the pics look great). do a search. Think the person is based in Europe.. so the total cost for services plus postage to/fro may be hefty.. but hey it could look really unique and killer like a custom.

If resole to rubber sole will alter the last or make it bulky then no point liao....Ya front topy will cost $30.

Ok let me go shoesnob blog and dig. Probably can send it to patina when i am in europe later part of the year....

Updated: Found the services offered by dandy shoe care

slip into the pair of my ed et al and it started creasing, is this even normal?

I noticed it takes noticeably more wears on my other pair to get them to develop crease.

advise, anyone?
