I did politely ask for boxes after they put my pair in shoe sleeves and off into the paper bag, told there were no boxes. Only to find out others have been getting their boxes so got a lil anal about it. anyhow, true, no need to have em boxes but it was good to have.

anyhow, my purchase yesterday.

I think maybe just nice your pair no box. :) I see the one They gave seemed to be same model as the shoes.

Am looking at the 43 brown boot but a little tad too big for my feet plus the shade of brown doesn't really appeal to me after trying it them on....

I was thinking how to pair them up. The color we got seems.easier. plus 43 was a bit narrow for me. So I got the 44 instead. I could resist that red color Caldecott there. Lol.. now I'm wondering.. how to pair it up. Embossed Kempt on the same shelf is mouth watering too. Lol

Went to edetal website and realized i have gotten the Mountbatten boot (think should be Mountbatten)

Leather cleaned with conditioning. Not the best of condition but heck it is going for $100 for a goodyear boot!

I got 3 pairs myself. Total spent is $400, which to me, is extreme value for money.

This pair of boots is one of my purchases as well. But I'm going to send it off to Italy to have it repatina'd. Having paid only $100 for it, I'm quite willing to spend money on making the pair of shoes one of a kind. Being Goodyear welted, it should provide a good basis for a lasting pair of footwear that's worthy of a ugly duckling to beautiful swan transformation.

I'm sending it to Alexander Nurulaeff of Dandy shoe care. Here's my correspondence with him:

Dear Mr. Chickenbackside,

I don't expect him to give us a discount on the repatina, but if we can save on the shipping, I totally wouldn't mind doing it together.

PM me, we can discuss there.
Let me get my logistic friend. I'm sure he has staff rates for this. I get back on this tmr. :)

Yes, that's definitely true.

But I topy my soles anyway, so it's of little consequence to me. In any case, $100 for GY welted boots that are decent looking (I have a pair of the same boots in MTO that I paid $500 for) to me is a no brainer. It allows me to spend a generous amount on making the shoes look like $1000 without actually doing so.

One qns, what color or design u asked him to do? :)
I am actually not going to be specific, except that it has to be some kind of brown. I'll then let him have free reign. No point having a piece of art on my feet that I can't wear with the rest of my wardrobe.

Having said that, that's just my style. The ah pek style cos I'm an ah pek.

The boots in their original state is really a great canvas for any color imaginable. If I were younger or more adventurous, I'd go for something really really special. I don't think my wife or kids would want to walk near me if I go for one of his spectacular colors.
