I read they can still make noise

The noise mentioned by the previous poster was due to his soles becoming detached. I highly doubt this will be the case with dainite or even rubber half-soles. Shoes are going to make "noise" when we walk anyhow, and leather soles probably do that more than others, but I'm sure most shoe enthusiasts actually enjoy the tapping sound made by leather soles against the ground.

received a $30 voucher from Ed Et Al after hooting a $349 loafer from the remastered series.

Did u get the flyer or somerset? For the earlier RTW collections, still at $300 or $349 as well?

Overall what's your review? Tks

I got the somerset II (dark burgundy) The remastered range was relaunched today. check out their website. According to the sales staff - $349 is becos better calf skin was used...

Note: the $30 voucher is only meant for repair or resoling

Is there expiry date on the voucher?

From the website the cityhall II looks like it has 2 types of texture separated by the seam. Is that so?

So better leather for $49 looks worth it to me. Question is how much better, is it palpable?

I have a similar problem with my Meermins actually. In my case, it's because the layers of the sole are not stuck together properly anymore (probably too many times getting soaked in the rain) and when I walk, the layers slide against each other causing the squeak.

Other than a proper resoling, another way I've seen mentioned online is to knock some nails into the sole to hold the layers together.

anyone knows which my shoe is squeaking? the sound is produced when the ball of the feet lifts up the ground. im getting irritated by the sound.

any bros here know how to remedy this?

Cited from: The Oxford Shoes Guide — Gentleman's Gazette The Oxford Shoes Guide ? Gentleman's Gazette

Meermin is run by a family Albaladejo family member who runs the famous Carmina shoes from Mallorca, Spain. In order to save costs, their shoes are made in China, and so the workmanship is not quite en par with Spain, but the price is also considerably lower.

This is what is holding me back from getting Meermin.

Had verified with the staff, no expiry for the voucher. As for the texture and leather quality, I have no comment.

Ya, smallest size is EU 40.

Just received it yesterday. Fit wise is true to size. Comfort level is great, as per most English made shoes. Leather upper is also nice, not those cheapo grain.

Design wise: boring. Feels like I'm wearing the same as a plain captoe shoe.

Isn't that what it is meant to be? Conservative and plain for formal occasions?

Was at edetal today. ALL GY welt rtw range (and not just the latest collection) are now priced at $349, up from $300. The SA told me the same story: use of better leather. I have some doubts and certainly will advise against buying older collection models for the next few months as they could well be old stock still using 'inferior' leather, so to speak.

The fiddlewaist of the latest collection is less pronounced but the GY stitch looks neater.
