Anyone visited KS@ 55 BQ for the shoes since they parted with edetal? Any idea the level of price mark-up applied compared to retail at country of origin?

Any recommendations for a pair of brown leather dress boots? My budget is around 300-500. Thank you!

Can get primaute series boots if up the budget by 50, if the series is not defunct..

I believe it could be defunct le. My mistake, Mountbatten seems to defunct also le. But I believe you can still MTO them de. Else I think the only boots RTW should be the Farquhar II which actually looks almost identical to Mountbatten.

How is the build quality on those shoes?

I just checked them out on their website, love the designs! However, how do the Mountbatten and Farquhar II differ? If I want too order the defunct series, can it be done?

Thank you!

Hmm, I just took a closer look, it appears that the Mountbatten doesn't feature the zip at the side

Thinking if I should try a pair of Grensons. At about $280-290, is the price reasonable?

The G2 line is pretty bad. G.Zero and G.One are both much higher quality, but at that price bracket you can also look at other brands/makers.

Appreciate your comment on the pair. I'm looking for a sub $200 pair of brogues/semi brogues with GY welt. Any experience with such shoes in HK?

Hong Kong? You might want to consider increasing your budget a little bit. I think dept stores like Harvey Nichols stock Loake and so on. Also no harm going to Tassels, but you may find yourself spending alot more than you originally intended.

If not, the Ed Et Al Shenton II is a good choice as well, and it's a Singaporean brand.

I chanced upon Tassels recently. Friend shared with me another store, The Armoury which has a similar concept to Tassels. I don't exactly need a pair but if there are bargain buys around $250, they will definitely be on my radar. Looking for a non-black pair, shall see if I strike gold.

Unfortunately u r not likely to find shoes at that price range at tassels or armoury. Zee's intro-ed by urban may be worth a shot and there is another of similar concept in HK i read on shoe snob blog but do not have the name off hand.

Edit: this is the one http://www.handmadebrogues.com

If you can wait, most such shoes will have sales/clearance sales coming Dec-Jan period.

I got my 2 pairs of Grenson G1 for $280/pair during the June/July clearance after 50% discount.
