I think if u are really particular to keep a unique shade then should use neutral or just reno to maintain the leather.

Not that creme or wax will change the colour. But if u fancy a mirror shine, cannot avoid wax. I personally find its ok to use colour wax/creme, colour wont change drastically n u can always give a good clean to strip off the colour.

I wouldn't reccomend using the renovateur cream too often though; once in a while to remove the previous layers of polish is fine. As for the colour of the creams and wax there will never be a product that matches the shoe colour completely (unless its your lucky day), you will be as safe as long as the products are used minimally

Hmm i thought renovateur (not renomat) is ok as a leather cleaner/moisturiser, no? What adverse effects could u share w us? Thanks!

For leather shoes, do you guys use the normal kiwi brush for polishing/buffing, or do you guys insist on horse/boar hair brushes? Thinking of getting one

I find both are ok. Horse hair bristles are indeed softer n therefore 'hurt' your leather less, if a dead cow's skin has feelings.

Bro BallGag did comment earlier that monks fit a little looser than oxfords.
I find the simpson size 9 in single Monks a pretty good fit. Snug but not tight or uncomfortable in any way. No heel slip whatsoever as well.
Should i opt for an oxford in simpson, would u think 9 would still be the size to go for?

Not exactly adverse per say; i was speaking to the teamfrom Saphir and their suggestion was also not to use the renovateur too often because of its characteristics (to strip and remove previous layers of polish ) so it can be quite be harsh on the leather surface if used too often. but of course i agree it does a great job as a cleaner!

Conditioning the leather using Saphir Renovateur

Polishing the entire shoe using a pigmented Saphir Cream Polish.

Congrats on getting the dress boots, pretty quick decision I must say. Curious how u plan to incorporate them into your dress wear? Am hesitant mainly becos I am not sure how the break of my pants would be with boots, and am not ready to tailor pants specially to go with dress boots at this point in time (or ever).

Looking to invest in some basic shoe care products to maintain my shoe.

Likewise, the literature I gathered from the internet seems to suggest that the renovateur is a pretty good calf leather conditioner for regular use (couple of times a month or so), even if you use no other shoe care product. I used it sparingly on my wife's old hand bag and I thought it worked pretty well too in cleaning the leather and giving it some suppleness.

Mason's comments (bearing in mind that he is a shoe care professional) has gotten me abit apprehensive now. Anyone like to chime in a 2nd opinion?

Can I check how different are the fittings G and F? I understand G is more of a wide fitting while F is of a medium fitting.

Let say my usual dress shoes are of UK 7 G and I am intending to get a shoe of "F" fitting. Do you all suggest the same UK 7 F or I should be looking at half a size up i.e UK 7.5 F
