I started my journey slightly more than a year ago, buying a pair each of the Loake Elland and Loake 771T with some vouchers I had then.

Since then, I've learnt that I prefer the Loake Elland, which is on the 85 last and G fit to the 771T on the 3625 last, F fit, despite the former being an oxford and the latter a derby. I have what I think are pretty wide feet.

I now think that I'm a bit more ready to move to the next step, i.e., better shoes, or at least those that aren't corrected grain. The problem is, whilst there are numerous last comparisons across brands, the lasts on these shoes aren't the ones usually spoken about within the Loake brand of shoes.

Will anyone be able to point me in the right direction of lasts/fits I should be considering, maybe within the Loake 1880 range, and Meermin or similar(ly) priced/standard shoes?

Bro i don't have experience with the Elland. But if you're talking about Loake, you can try the mayfair last which is the most generous, or the capital last as well.
For Meermin, you can prob go with the Hiro last

Loake no more Mayfair last already. The replacement is Swing last, which Loake reclassify from F->G wide. Not sure whether is it a new last or just renaming.

Ah, my apologies
Im not very in touch with Loake shoes
But if its a G width then yeah it should be suitable for for cookiee

Yes well to be fair the Meridian has been heavily polished and the Carmina punch caps are still fresh out the box. I really like the Meridian though, it's one of my favourite shoes and in terms of quality the Primaute line is much better than the Classic line.

Yes, though I do think that the Meridian will still stand out more compared to the Carmina polished up. That's just my preference.... :D

I think the carminas will look better after polishing and a little breaking in. Probably the angle does a little difference as well. Nontheless, stunning edetal in burgundy too.

tried polishing my meermins today, almost finished already made a mistake and there was an uneven patch(black pair not worried), tried to fix it to no avail, damn, shag!

lesson learnt tho!

Maybe I should get a Pair of Carmina in Stockholm. Saw some price cuts at SkoAB. I be visiting The Shoe Snob in UK. Pity that Justin is in SG!

After writing the post I also wrote to the folks at Loake, asking for a comparison. In a nutshell, the reply was that the following are their general sizing styles:

E – medium/narrow / F – medium / G – wide / H – Extra wide

and in comparing the G fits to the 1880s groups, the following shoes models would be suitable:

Apethorn / Ashby / Badminton / Beaufort / Bedale / Churchill / Edward / Gladstone / Hexham / Naylor / Worton / Wharfdale

he further added that the 085 that is on the Elland is a very traditionally round last, and that the Capital last is slightly more pointed, but that he - who usually requires a G fit - also fits well into a Capital last shoe such as the Buckingham.

Thank you very much also for the comparison to meermin lasts! I should probably start checking those out...

That was really helpful of them.
A word of caution about meermin. If you email them they usually tell you that you can take the same size in all the lasts for their Classic line. Take That with a pinch of salt. You will be safe with the Hiro. But i also have a Park and even with my narrowish feet i did find it pretty snug so if u have pretty wide feet ... Be careful
