Just curious, did you spend a lot of effort into removing the dark brown colour dye? To removing such a dark colour and change to a lighter color has me thinking about just how much effort you have put in to lighten it after I have a hang of removing colour dye....

Needless to say your customer must be damn happy to see the end result. Cheers!

Ya I only got 1 brush to work with that time.... Will be getting a smaller and finer brush to work on them again. I think i will reserve patina the vamp and quarter area as well.....

Do you buy polish/cream/wax from amazon too? I am concern if these products have product shipping here as it might contain turpentine.

Saphir is available here in various places (for example Diamond Walker). Don't really need to import. I find most waxes (Kiwi for eg) work well too.

Saphir is one of the best brand for shoe care and shine product that I have ever used, in my opinion. Saphir's "Renovateur" crème works well to nourish the leather, though frequent usage of it can be harsh on leathers. I personally use it sparingly (duration/application). A little really goes a long way.

If you're paranoid about online shipping(especially about that turpentine issue), then you can search for 'Saphir Singapore' in facebook and inquire where is the nearest store that stocks their products. No doubt, there are a few stores that stock Saphir but prices differ (sometimes substantial) although it's the same products.

So it's wise to really research extensively. MORE research = MORE savings = A happier man. Hope this helps. Hope to hear other seniors' inputs too.

Thank mason, at least now I know it is possible to strip off to this degree... Just bought a preown mid brown double monk. Will give it a try after I inspect the condition!

Yeah, I bought quite some time back when they first went on sale (still at the boat quay shop). At the time, they still had the grey and the light brown colors available.

But same experience, the leather was quite dull and lifeless. So, re-dye.
