Hi everyone, few months back I've posted here looking for recommendations for places to buy shoes ( specifically looking for Tassel Loafers ). Fast forward now, due to me worrying about the sizes & fittings. I've decided to drop by Aldo, Tangs ( saw LLYR ).

After trying out few sizes of LLYR, I realise the whole fits nicely ( literally just nice, no extra spacing at the side and heel area ) But when I started walking, the back / heels tend to *lift off* in a up & down motion. Is it normal??? Any feedbacks / opinions regarding the price point & quality???

Why would u worry about the fit if they are the SAME shoes that u can try at robinsons? Anything else i can understand.

Do u mean if i try a pair of shoes of that brand and get the size correct, it will be good for all models of the same brand? No i do not mean that if u get a brand n size right it will apply for all shoes of the same brand. It will also depend on the shoe last (shape), shoe width (E, F, G etc) and shoe design (derby, oxford, loafer). I meant the exact shoes in my earlier posting as i thought u already found the pair u like. However. if it's the same brand, last, width and design, very likely it should fit u the same as well.

Determining one's shoe sizing constitute both wearing and walking with the shoes on, not just fitting and be motionless. We wear shoes to walk, not just to cover our feet, right? So I guess that pair of shoes you wore were a tad larger(and lengthier) than the size of your feet since you experience heel slippage while walking.

On another note, did you wear the shoes during the day or night? Our feet will become slightly bigger as the day goes on. Sometimes when you put shoes on in the morning they seem fine and by day’s end they are tight on your feet.

LLYR's RTW shoe range are a decent entry, comparable to Ed Et Al's RTW range. Both RTW range constructed in Vietnam though. Although their RTW leather quality may not be as excellent as compared to other reputable names (like Carmina, C&J, AS or etc), I reckon both LLYR and Ed Et Al RTW range are decent entry shoes worth exploring to embark on one's sartorial journey.

Loafers are a tricky fit. M sure others can attest too.

U should typically try to fit more snug on a loafer (so long as your toes are not cramped/bent) the lack of laces or strap to restrain your feet means that your feet will tend to slip forward when you walk. This is accentuated if the vamp/throat of the loafer is relatively "short".

Thanks for the clarification. Anyway order a grenson with size uk 6 which is eu 40 as i wear that size for most of my shoes. Hopefully it fits......awaiting delivery of the shoe now

As for no-show socks, all I can say is : if you want to look sockless, go sockless.

If the heel slip is random and the shoes fit snug throughout your feet, then the slippage should improve once the shoes break in. The soles will flex more. Take note that leather shoes will also stretch with wear so make sure you get a good, snug fit.

What about for people with excessively sweart feet?

You can wear "invisible" socks, which are socks designed very low cut meant for wearing loafers.


Or you can "spam" baby/foot powder on your feet to keep your feet dry.
