Anyone keen to purchase a jar of Saphir Medaille D'Or Pommadier Creme Polish (75ml) - MEDIUM BROWN?

I'm selling it for $18. Initially I bought 2 jars of the same colour to conduct a colour experiment, but after utilising 1 jar, I realised medium brown cream polish is not the ideal colour as it lack consistency/depth for a pair of mine captoe oxfords. My loss is your gain. I can meet you at chinatown/clarke quay area (weekdays) or at the east side (weekends). PM me to set an appointment prior to meet-up. Oh, I prefer cash transactions. Thank you.

This item has been SOLD.

Looks like Meermin prices have gone up. Now priced at US$170 (excl VAT) for their entry level range as compared to EU160 (incl VAT)

Wow... That must have happened not long ago. I just visited the website yesterday night. With the increase, it might just make it less worth it due to their QC issues.

I think everybody at some point will have to raise prices. Carmina is also raising theirs so i don't really see what the fuss on SF is about.

Except when you placed your accepted order in Euros, and your credit card gets charged with a new USD price.

Except when you charge EU customers one price and international ones a different one.

Yeah, the international pricing is going to hurt them. What used to be an acceptable price point for their LM shoes (taking into account their unpredictable QC and lacklustre customer service) has now become more expensive than Carmina....

avoid these cemented crap shoes by all means. They don't last.

I wouldn't avoid them completely. I have a few pairs of shoes from Pedro and Rad and they are still running fine (most are more than 2 years old). I do rotate them a fair bit so probably why they last as long. I've worn them overseas for work for a full week from time to time and some of them have had a heel rubber replacement already so I don't think they are as bad.

They also almost don't need any breaking in which is a plus for comfort.

Spot on. How one treats his pair of shoes plays a paramount and cardinal role in determining the shoes' lifespan.

For an instance, the lifespan of a pair of shoes from BATA can very well perpetuate due to a fair bit of rotation, conditioning treatment, utilising of shoe trees and etc. On the other hand, a pair of shoes from renowned names (such as EG/JL/SC) may deteriorate faster than expected without the proper, essential care & treatment.

Undisputedly, I'm not indicating that a pair of shoes from BATA are better in quality as compared to the renowned shoemakers mentioned above, but rather, it's wise to care rather than to neglect.

Mind if i asked where you bought these? With my high instep, i would never be able to achieve the closed laced up look. So would be good if i can 'see how bad it is' before pulling the trigger (if at all). Thanks.

hi guys, im looking to get an entry level pair of Black Oxfords (Cap-toes) or Dark Brown Wing-tipped Brogues. My budget is approximately $150-$200 (prefer it to be below $200). Any where that i can purchase the said shoes?

Oh and my feet are pretty wide, if that will affect my available choices.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I did have 3 pairs of such shoes before to rotate around -- Bose morgan, rad russel and beverly hill polo. The rad russel don't even last me 6 months (sudden development of vein-looking wrinkles all over, flimsy soles). The BH polo shoes sole cracked after 2 yrs. The bose morgan lasted me 3 yrs plus before the sole became detached from the leather upper.

Most importantly, these shoes uses top-grain leather (thinner, more pliable, less breathability).

Founder of Ed Et Al featured on the news in regards to Budget 2015.

Edwin Neo
people4.jpg

Edwin Neo was trained in interior design, but developed a passion for making high quality European-style shoes.

He went to train under a master shoemaker in Budapest and came back to found his own company. He is doing well, selling both ready-to-wear shoes and upmarket bespoke creations.

The shoes are not cheap, said the Finance Minister to laughter from the House.

Mr Neo was mentioned in the Budget speech as an example of those who are willing to go the extra mile for to their passion.

The newly announced SkillsFuture Study Awards and Fellowships will be useful for individuals like Mr Neo. Singaporeans can make use of the awards and fellowships to develop deep skills and mastery in the growth clusters of the future.

"But we will be open to those who want to develop themselves in fields that they are really passionate about," Mr Tharman said.

Sad to hear that. I've had a pair of democrata shoes that had the sole detach from the toe box area after a few wears. Luck plays a part as well I guess.
